Don't know if this will work, but the old thread is complete!

Oh no, I've been score watching on BBC Sport website but it's clearly a few minutes behind! Apparently, he had a match point on Oda's serve? So did Alfie then get broken when he served for the match at 5-4?

Oh no -5-5 . Don't get stressed Alfie.

kazza yes, he was very ahead, and now Oda has pulled it back. Alfie will be gutted if he throws loses it again.

kazzaD66 · 07/09/2024 16:53

Thank you for your witterings Raahh Grin
You're* *not alone, it's just I don't have Sky or Eurosport or whoever is broadcasting it!

Grin Oda is getting very confident now , i think Alfie is feeling a lost- 0-40 down serving to level at 6-6.

It's a big shame, he seemed to have it in the bag.

Raahh · 07/09/2024 16:58

It's on Channel 4, kazza .

Raahh · 07/09/2024 16:58

And Oda has taken it.

Poor Alfie.

Oda's wheels have come off!

kazzaD66 · 07/09/2024 17:00

Oh, of course it is! My bloody brain is still not working properly. I was thinking of the US Open not being on terrestrial tv. HmmConfusedBlush

Alfie looks pretty upset, but hopefully it won't get him down too much.

kazzaD66 · 07/09/2024 17:01

Oh, poor Alfie!
Obviously, his wheels came off metaphorically in the last few games!!!!

That is the sort of thing I do.

I missed a week of AO once, because I forgot I had Eurosport Grin

I missed all that.

I've put the men's doubles on now

Raahh · 07/09/2024 17:53

I missed the start of the doubles- I have a soft spot for Porntache, so would like him to win, losing the Wimbledon final (which was so close) really hit him hard.

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 18:04

I'm wondering how a German is called Kevin 🤔

Raahh · 07/09/2024 18:06

It sounds wrong, doesn't it? Grin

Raahh · 07/09/2024 18:08

Unfortunately, ever since the Olympics and the breakdancing I associate the Aussie green 'kit' with Raygun, and now I want Jordan to breakdance.

The US crowd would probably appreciate that.

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 18:09

Well I just googled Kevin Germany and found this Shock https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevinismus. I know Kevin has a weird reputation in England too but here it's just a nice Irish name Grin

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 18:11

The Ossssies pronunciation is doing my head in! If you can't say it properly just say Australians! Angry

Wow. I would never have thought of Kevin like that. It's not bad!

Maybe it's because I grew up with so many. It's just a very 70s name to me. (Much like my own!).

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 18:17

The description of Kevin as "trendy and exotic sounding" is very funny Grin

My name is always on those names you hate threads Grin

Raahh · 07/09/2024 18:22

My name is just ubiquitously 1971. I don't like it, and always shorten it. Except my mother never does, and that annoys me.

I was never bothered about being one of at least 3 in every class at school though. It was nice to be anonymous Grin.

Raahh · 07/09/2024 18:32

Getting nervous serving for the match is becoming a thing today.

ChessieFL · 07/09/2024 18:42

I had the same Raahh. There were 10 girls in my uni halls corridor, and 3 of us had the same name!

Sad for Alfie especially as he go so close.

Not sure if I’m going to watch the women’s final later - would like to but I’ll probably only stay awake for the beginning!

There’s a British girl doing well in the girls’ final so fingers crossed for her.

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 18:47

Well done Jordan and Max
