ITVX What's your date of birth?

Just as I thought itvx had upped its game it comes up with this nonsense .
I now can't get onto the app without entering date of birth.

"We use your date of birth to give you an age appropriate experience and for relevant advertising"

I've paid for premium so don't get adverts although I'm guessing they're using it more from a 'if you liked that watch this' perspective.

But "age appropriate experience" what the hell is that?

So they don't show sex and violence to kids I'd guess.

You don't have to use your actual DOB.

Yes, that makes sense. I don't know why I was so irrationally annoyed last night.

I'm just deciding what age I want to be.

I also came across this last night (I haven't watched telly for weeks so I don't know when it started).

I don't like this sort of thing. This is just more info they demand. Does it work if you fib about your age?
