David Morrisey is far better in Sherwood !
He is a bit manic in this.

And TWD

Quite good. I liked Dad and Gemma. The horrible girl's 25th party disaster one was funny. I remember her dad from This Life back in the 90s - Graham?, one of Anna's bosses. I liked Gemma's boss too and the salon customer. Pretty funny all round.

Gonksmum · 01/09/2024 13:53

Oh yes, and the sister in prison was funny. Ending was disappointing, though. I guessing a set up for Series 2?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 01/09/2024 17:51

agree gonksmum with different issues

I loved my mad fat diary. She was great in it and I like her storyline in this too.

the80sweregreat · 02/09/2024 08:23

I think the mad fat diary was on sky a few years ago so I didn't see it , but I do remember a trailer for it and people said she was good in it.
She should be in more things , she is great

Normalrulesdontapply · 02/09/2024 09:51

Just watched the whole series (having some me time while DH is away!). I enjoyed it and I kept watching, although what surprised me was that I found the sex scenes/talk a bit ‘grubby’ and I normally think of myself as very open minded! I must be getting old 😮

It is on 4od (or whatever it is called now!) - both series are good. It's a nice homage to the 90s.

lazymum99 · 02/09/2024 14:39

My big fat diary was brilliant. Jodie Cromer is in it as well

the80sweregreat · 02/09/2024 14:43

The sex talk was a bit grubby I agree.
I've always been a bit of prude with things like that on tv though.. find it a bit embarrassing too!

paranoidnamechanger · 02/09/2024 14:50

The sex talk felt so out of place, really. It’s like they wanted to shock us or we were supposed to find it hilarious but I just felt bored and irritated.

Gonksmum · 02/09/2024 18:29

Yes, agree about the sex talk. The bit about what the hot-tub worshipping brother-in-law used to get up to before he met the Dad's sister was repeatedly so often that it wore a bit thin and wasn't as funny.

the80sweregreat · 02/09/2024 18:49

The main character didn't seem too fazed about being pregnant and I can't imagine she earned a lot of money in that rather old fashioned salon either! Almost , oh well , I'll make do attitude!
( I know it's not real )

paranoidnamechanger · 02/09/2024 19:08

I couldn’t relate to her at all and didn’t find myself rooting for her either. Whole thing had a cartoonish feel, which didn’t work.

EmotionalBruises · 05/09/2024 20:11

I finished watching the whole series last week. I liked it, but I thought that it skipped ahead quite a bit. I know that they had to fit in Gemma's pregnancy throughout the six episodes, but I thought it could have been done better. I agree that the ending was disappointing.

The baby daddy... I have some thoughts on his offer, but I won't say anything just yet, as I don't want to spoil anything.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2024 18:50

Thought I had seen 6 and just found on the planner so have now seen

He really is a wimp isn't he - her dad

Loved seeing susan lunch as mum but what a bitch

Hope there will be a s2

More of Ben and their relationship
