Rocketman is my favourite film!
I just love it all. I love the music, the sound mixing, the filming. I just think it's great!
But how amazing is Taron Egerton as Elton John?! He deserved an Oscar for that performance, it was outstanding!!
Anyone else love that film?!

I agree! I felt moved to tears and awe inspired throughout. TE is a brilliant actor but I find it fascinating when he breaks into song because he’s such a talented singer too.

He's just incredible isn't he? Very underrated, I'd love to see him in more films!
I just love everything about this film. I watched it in the weekend and again now as I just love it!

I also really like Jamie bell in it, although not sure what's going on with the accent?

He’s great but I’ve seen Eddie the Eagle so many times (because it’s always on tv!) I can’t get that character out of my head whenever I see him in anything else!

We love the Eddie the Eagle film He (Eddie/Michael) actually popped up as someone you may know on my Facebook feed.

I've never been an Elton John fan but Taron Egerton was simply outstanding in that film and made me appreciate Elton John a bit more. Definitely deserved an oscar.

Eddie the Eagle is one of my favourite films which I watch time and time again. Taron is excellent in that. As is Hugh Jackman.

Luminousalumnus · 24/07/2024 23:45

Yes, absolutely love both films

Zen · 25/07/2024 00:31

I do love Rocketman but he’ll always be Eggsy to me.

42isthemeaning · 25/07/2024 00:42

Loved it and it was really emotionally engaging - fabulous actor!

MeAgainAndAgain · 25/07/2024 01:01

I prefer his version of Rocketman (the song) to be honest.

ForGreyKoala · 25/07/2024 05:43

I loved the movie and thought he was outstanding in the part. Jamie Bell was great also.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 25/07/2024 06:54

The music in the Eddie the Eagle film is also great. It was scored by Gary Barlow.

TE is one of the reasons I love the Sing movies. He plays the gorilla character and his singing is just sublime.

WingBingo · 25/07/2024 07:00

Love TE. Enjoy all his films.

I had a mini obsession a while back.

sausawyee · 25/07/2024 10:01

I'm not a fan of Elton John so watched this movie reluctantly but he was fabulous!

Sanguinello · 25/07/2024 13:24

Yes I love this film too. I've seen it so many times. I went to see it three times at the cinema. The only other time I've seen a film more than once at the cinema was Footloose, twice in the 80s!
They did some of the songs really well.

Funkyslippers · 25/07/2024 13:27

It's a travesty that he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar. He was just as good, if not better, than Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury imo

I totally agree!
I loved bohemian rhapsody when it came out and adored RM but I don't think he even compares to TE in rocketman!
I almost struggle to watch BR now as I think RM accent is really off......

Totally agree with the PP about not being a huge Elton fan before it but now I do find myself sticking a Elton John playlist on every now and again 🙈 I do prefer TE versions of some songs though!

You should listen to his episode of the Offmenu Podcast - he comes across really well.
