Hmm
expatinscotland · 12/04/2008 21:06

all those shows were shite, cod.

not as shitey as Friends, The OC and all that other, stinky shite.

but shite all the same.

luminarphrases · 12/04/2008 21:10

Pushing Daisies is brilliant.

bcsnowpea · 12/04/2008 21:24

I agree with luminar.

It's beautifully produced, and quite quirky.

Definitely watch it if you have a love of pies, which I do.

poppy34 · 12/04/2008 21:25

lasted less than a minute before I switched over...and that was before shiny teeth /shiny hair friel came on.

expatinscotland · 12/04/2008 21:25

Oh, god, another American show that is 'quirky'.

Just what the world needs!

frankiesbestfriend · 12/04/2008 22:47

Dd has been asking to watch it ( 7yo but fairly mature) is it suitable or not ?

luminarphrases · 12/04/2008 23:09

i wouldn't let a 7 yo watch it. later in the series the bodies tend to be more mangled. it tends to be a murder every week, and some (gentle) sex references occasionally

plus, i think there's stuff a 7 yo wouldn't get

I turned over to watch Love Soup, so who did kill her???

shelleylou · 12/04/2008 23:17

it didnt show you, just some man in a balclava that one of her aunties killed as he tried to kill her

RGPargy · 12/04/2008 23:37

Oh i loved it!! It was brilliant!!

crackinggoodegg · 12/04/2008 23:43

I'm wondering how they're going to keep it interesting as a series - could end up a bit 'Six Feet Under' with lots of corpses and an underlying story, I suppose.

luminarphrases · 13/04/2008 00:04

its more murder mystery of the week than six feet under, so there is a corpse every week, but (imo) its never played the same every week- the death is always clever and never really guessable

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 01:15

It's very odd. Sort of a murder mystery with black humour. And very American. (I saw it at work - I wouldn't watch it at home)

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 01:17

But light hearted - it's obviously not serious.

UnquietDad · 15/04/2008 15:15

By the way, you should be aware that ITV (because they are twonks) are missing out ep 2 and going straight to ep 3.

LazyLinePainterJane · 15/04/2008 15:16

I gave it a go as I loved Dead Like Me and this is from the same guy. You could see the similarities but I felt it was a bit contrived as a story idea and I didn't give a toss about the main characters. It's trying too hard.

LIZS · 15/04/2008 15:31

Did they edit it for the ITV2 rehsow on Sundya ? Only saw a bit btu it seemed to lack the pink plastic used as the mruder weapon . It is a bit Randall and Hopkirk but cannot see how the idea will be sustained. And what is all this fuss about ITV missing hte 2nd episode out , if that still makes sense then it is a poor reflection on the show !

MissGelly · 15/04/2008 16:55

I couldnt get past Anna Friel's new set of glow in the dark veneers... like a rabbit in headlights.

RGPargy · 15/04/2008 17:34

If they are missing out episode 2 i think i will try and download it!

RGPargy · 20/04/2008 16:28

Just watched the second episode and am now watching episode 3 that is being repeated from last night. Thanx for the heads up!
