The Bridges of Madison County.
Message in a Bottle
The Notebook
After the Promise (which no one seems to have watched other than me but it’s real gulping, nose running sobbing material)

A Monster Calls

I watched this on a plane, thinking it was a heartwarming story about a boy and his friendship with a talking tree. It is not. It's a harrowing depiction of a child coming to terms with his mum's terminal cancer.
I ugly cried on a plane full of strangers.

StellaOlivetti · 19/07/2024 06:51

Of Mice and Men, the John Malkovich version. I was unable to stop crying.

Coco - absolutely sobbed my heart out and I couldn't stop crying for hours

Everyreason · 19/07/2024 09:41

@Houseplanter I’ve seen it too. I was in floods.

When the policeman brings one of the boys home and the dad says that whatever he does he’ll always be there for him.

Seriously tearing up just remembering that bit!

Houseplanter · 19/07/2024 09:51

@Everyreason I've found it on YouTube and going to watch it again. It's years since I've seen it, and had my own children since so imagine there will be more sobbing!

DoAClassicCamel · 19/07/2024 09:59
