Great match, lovely finalists. Right, Ds's mate in the doubles final now, so more tennis for us!

ChessieFL · 13/07/2024 17:03

Shame how many empty seats there are, especially as there’s a Brit playing.

Bonbon21 · 13/07/2024 17:07

They all go to the loo/bar in the break and come back a couple of games in.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/07/2024 18:12

Come on Henry & Harri.

There should be a 'seat warming ' ticket. Not sure quite how it would be managed but it is dreadful to see so many empty seats when people would love to be there. Still loads empty

MirandaWest · 13/07/2024 18:45

I can understand how people might not be there right at the beginning as there was about 15 minutes between matches on Thursday and although DD and I did manage to get back in time it took a while just to leave and then grab something to eat and get back. The second semi final was pretty empty when it started but did fill up in each break.

But I suspect doubles won’t get as many people 😞

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/07/2024 18:45

Yessssss!

Bonbon21 · 13/07/2024 18:46

Wow guys!!!👏👏

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/07/2024 18:48

I was on No1 Court on Thursday and it was disgraceful. Picture shows how it was ALL day, not just between matches. Entire blocks empty.

That is so sad.... people would give their eye teeth to get tickets..

Wimbledon have to address this issue.. so unfair on players, public and staff in particularl who work so hard to make things just perfect for the tournament.

mazylou · 13/07/2024 19:17

The corporate hospitality seats are always like this: it's an excuse to hang out and drink Pimms all day. Not actual tennis fans.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/07/2024 19:19

This Men's doubles final is good stuff.

Apparently Princess of Wales will be presenting the trophy tomorrow. Wonder who it will be today? I saw Duchess of Gloucester mentioned as a possibility earlier this week.

Very disappointed she didn't choose to present at the women's rather than the men's. Women's sports needs all the support it can get

Bonbon21 · 13/07/2024 19:32

Think it is unfair that only the mens get a 'royal' presentation.... womens and all the doubles are just as worthy.. bearing in mind that most people play doubles at their clubs.

JaneJeffer · 13/07/2024 19:49

Just saw match point. Well done @kindlyensure's DS's mate Grin

Enjoyed that very much.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/07/2024 19:50

Such a close match! Well done, Finn and Brit!

Raahh · 13/07/2024 19:51

Well done! That got very emotional at the end.

Do feel sorry for Jordan and Max though.

Bonbon21 · 13/07/2024 19:51

That was amazing!!!
Poor Harri is in bits!!😀😀

kindlyensure · 13/07/2024 19:52

Amazing! He was only working at Wim a couple of years ago and has come up through county tennis - so v inspiring for all the youngsters out there!

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/07/2024 19:53

Amazing. Soooo happy for them.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 13/07/2024 19:58

What a match! They both look shell shocked.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/07/2024 20:35

The Women's doubles final is a good match too.

Raahh · 13/07/2024 20:43

It is Grouchy though I am getting to the stage where I'm not sure how long I will last!

Bonbon21 · 13/07/2024 16:27

Sorry, but I think Annabel Croft interviews people as if she was talking to 5 year olds.
I appreciate she is trying to enunciate clearly for the players who do not have English as a first language, but it comes across as quite patronising.

Anyway.. congrats to both players... see you next year!!

Now for the Doubles... more tea I think!!

@Bonbon21 new cups please!
