So many dramas at the moment ! Thanks for this @Blondeshavemorefun

1975wasthebest · 14/07/2024 14:07

Thanks, I'll probably watch all four eps in the week as I see they'll all be on iPlayer from tomorrow morning.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2024 14:38

Probably because most people don’t watch tv in the traditional way these days so it provides options to watch when they want to

The only dramas that tend to have live broadcast that people will watch are massive shows like Line of Duty or Happy Valley that have built up an audience over years

Same as things like Eastenders. I prefer to watch it during my lunch break from work than in the evening, others want to watch at the normal time. We both have the options to fit around our lives

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2024 20:47

I get putting it all up once finished so why can't they wait 4/6w and do it at the end

Then people can watch it all in one night

Or record it like ee and watch it at another time

Anyway I've had my usual moan 😂😂😂

Seen trailers of this and good

Just trying to fit it and detective in

We have just watched the first episode and were looking forward to watching the rest over the next couple of days. However, not now going to bother. Most of it seems to be shot in the dark and if not, the picture is so dark as to be really difficult to see even in supposed daylight. So irritating. Not going to waste our time. A pity since I really like Jenna Coleman.

the80sweregreat · 15/07/2024 21:14

Jenna Coleman winds me up for no reason I can put my finger on ! She always looks smug
( Dh thinks I'm just jealous )

UnhappyAndYouKnowIt · 15/07/2024 21:21

I like her better in this than in some things. Probably because of the swearing.

It took me way too long to pick up that there were two different timelines 🤦‍♀️

Hedgerow2 · 15/07/2024 21:24

Soldiered through to the end of episode 1. Tedious. Won't be watching any more.

1975wasthebest · 15/07/2024 21:36

I agree the first episode was tedious. I'm just not grabbed by the story and I've a feeling there's going to be A Very Important Message at the end of the series - yawn.

the80sweregreat · 15/07/2024 21:38

She has lovely hair.
Everything these days is shot in the dark and we always need the subtitles on

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 15/07/2024 22:01

I switched it off. Not interested in a teenager wanking a horse.

Yes, wtf?!!!

Yes, wtf?!!!

Yes definitely unnecessary, thrown in for no reason but to shock.

It did grip me enough though to give episode 2 a go.

Itisjustmyopinion · 15/07/2024 22:07

I’m intrigued enough to keep watching. The last 30 seconds confused me at first watch but I rewinded it and put subtitles on to make out who she said was in the picture. I take it we have been watching two timelines?

That was horrible and deeply disturbing.

Hedgerow2 · 15/07/2024 22:26

Agree with comments about it being too dark/gloomy. I had no idea I was watching 2 timelines. Also too many characters for me to keep track of.

Coastalcreeksider · 15/07/2024 22:30

Didn't enjoy it at all, particularly the unnecessary bit with the horse.

Won't be bothering with the rest of the series.

MabelMoo23 · 15/07/2024 22:40

I’ve only just realised it was two timelines.

and yes the horse bit, deeply unnecessary.

Clawdy · 15/07/2024 22:58

And yet another grooming story, just too much.

PrincessScarlett · 15/07/2024 23:02

I quite enjoyed it... apart from the horse bit.

The reveal at the end of tonight about her husband being the older guy with Amy was a good cliffhanger. I already feel for Ember having to re-evaluate her whole relationship with him.

Do we know how her husband died?

Also, the village seems really creepy as all the women seem to have gotten pregnant very young.

WGACA · 15/07/2024 23:08

I didn’t enjoy the first episode at all. Switched off before the end.

Cancer. That is why they were doing the fun run. She mentioned it to the podcaster when she stopped running to speak to her

PrincessScarlett · 15/07/2024 23:14

Ah yes thanks @Itisjustmyopinion of course 🤦🏻‍♀️
