I think the horse wanking was to show us she’s a VERY BAD GIRL. I quite enjoyed it (the episode, not the horse)
It was nice to see Arthur Hughes again after I’ve just watched him in Shardlake.
I hadn’t clocked the two timelines either and also had to rewind a bit at the end. (Though it is a plot mechanism that always confuses me!). I’ll keep watching I think.

deeahgwitch · 16/07/2024 09:00

It was slow and filmed in the dark. 🙄
I thought it would be better, but I will continue to watch.
The episode with the horse was gratuitous and disgusting.
Yes we know she's a bad girl.
Give your audience credit for their intelligence please Ms.Scriptwriter.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2024 09:56

www.whattowatch.com/features/the-jetty-episode-1-recap-who-is-the-girl-in-the-photo

And yes always have subtitles on tbh

Ok seen e1

Sometimes I think I watch different stuff from others on tv threads 😂😂

I enjoyed this. Thought a good thriller /drama and look forward to e2 tonight

Why did so Many of you not like ?

I worked out two timelines due to the name of Amy

Tho it didn't seem like 17yrs ago

And if that predator malochy is the same one years ago he would be ancient now

So obv not him who got Miranda pregnant

And then the shock that mack her dead hubby was the man we had been seeing with Amy

Made the timelines even clearer esp as was 17yrs ago

But ember was obv preg 17yrs ago with her daughter so was Mack two timing her with Amy

And maybe once he knew ember was preg he killed amy

Or did she just vanish and isn't dead

Or died at the boat shed aka jetty hence name of show

I'm hope not for ember and hannah sake

But a very good twist

Ans yes died of cancer. Assume testicular cancer due to the fake balls on head band before race and obv t shirts

I've watched it all. I think the first episode was a bit slow and the horse but was just unnecessary.

But I enjoyed it and was gripped to find out what happened.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2024 14:14

Tbh if I didn't have subtitles on ans read on here - I prob wouldn't have really noticed it

Yes the hand moving up and down but ......

The dark haired girl is Amy (the girl who went missing 17 years ago).

Her older boyfriend is Ember's late husband.

Amy the school girl with 'kitty' and malocky?

Went missing 17yrs ago. She's mentioned a few times

So when they said her name amy I worked out she was the missing girl and two timeliness

So amys boyfriend is Hannah's dad /embers hubby

He died a year ago via cancer

Just read that...

When did we get told that Amelia Bullmore was Ember's mother?

Hard agree that Ember is a very stupid name. It must be significant?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2024 17:09

Tbh I didn't think we did but the guardian said about her so .....

was she the physic - I recognised her but didn't know was embers mum

OP posts:
Candleabra · 16/07/2024 17:09

I thought it was Amy on the old photo with Ember’s husband and older Ember recognised her.
Isn’t it young Ember with Kitty?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2024 17:10

No the photo was Amy and Hannah's asked who it was with her dad

Ember took the pic then releises it was Amy the missing girl

Sarvanga24 · 16/07/2024 19:22

I wasn’t convinced on this on first episode, not least because I’d missed the different eras 😆 - but three in now and liking it.
