The main actor, Emily Bader, reminded me of a young (and brown haired) Emilia Fox.

We're about halfway through! I started it as I love anything historical but wasn't expecting the comedy aspect, loving it so far!

Gripped but also hating it . It annoys me that they keep pronouncing words and names slightly wrong. Bess is also a bit insipid unlike the real Elizabeth. I like the Ethian strand but don't fancy Guildford at all.

Although I love Anna Chancellor, who is clearly having a whale of a time.

I started it late one night because I heard Rob Brydon was in it. Enjoyed the first episode but couldn't stay awake. Glad to hear it's enjoyable, I'll binge it this weekend.

I feel like I'm watching CBBC. I would have loved this in my teens. Now I'm just finding the narrator incredibly annoying.
I shall persevere though...

I'm on episode 3. It's not really aimed at my age group but I'll recommend it to my older teenager...

I think I am too old and too much of a historical puritan to endure this. Got through the first episode, but finding it so annoying. I do very much like Dominic Cooper. Why is Edward a grown man though?

I guess I am the wrong demographic.

It looks a lot like the style of The Great (the series that's about Catherine the Great and Peter III - but basically only in name). I like more 'serious' historical shows.

I don't really like the fantasy bit. Everything these days seems to be fantasy.

Well Amazon have cancelled it and won’t be making a second series 😢

Even though I thought it was ludicrous I still wanted to watch a second series. Weird decision by Amazon - felt like the kind of show that would keep adding fans.

I'm gutted as I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to a second season! Hopefully another network will pick it up?
