Please help me make sense of DAMAGES

I missed the penultimate episode of Damages, and days after watching the last episode am still struggling to make sense of it all. Can anyone help?

Who killed the fiance? How? Was it that crazy stalker woman, and if not what did she have to do with anything? And was there any significance to Patty's son being in her apartment before the attempted murder?

He was killed by a bent policeman and another thug that seemed to be on Frobisher's payroll. They were looking for the tape that Gregory Malina had made and were trying to get him (Ellen's boyfriend) to say where it was. I don't think there was any significance in Pattie's son being there but it was very confusing and there is another series so who knows!

i thought the bent policeman was also on Pattis payroll

Was he? I missed that one although I also missed an episode so it was hard to keep up with the plot at points. There are tons of loose ends left so I'm hoping we'll get more answers in the next series.

That must have been the one I missed. I don't remember that. The plot thickens!
