That bloody little kid. He wasn't kidnapped he ran away.

Why was the mum dancing while he was missing 😂😂

And the map.

So the lad planned on running away and thought he would see if his parents figured it out? I'd be so angry at him.
😂😂

I agree. He went from a safe, warm home where he was fed and loved. To a seedy underground world of drugs, alcohol and Lord knows what else, had he not got out when he did.

And all for what? His parents were fighting and swearing at each other a lot. And throwing the odd thing around. And his dad was a complete alcoholic asshole. Whilst his mum was a chain smoking adulterer.

Hardly the best role models I agree. Definitely traumatic for him to witness. But children suffer much worse and don't put themselves in more danger trying to get away from it!

But 9 year olds don’t think like that. They think ‘I’m scared here, I’ll go someplace else’.

Obviously it’s exaggerated for effect, but it’s not totally ridiculous.

Edgar's story was implausible. Yusef was kind, but Edgar was terrified down there with all those fights and noise, totally implausible that he wanted to stay. Ending cheesy - Vince should have died. The rest was brilliant. Now with Police forces dancing round rainbows we forget that the 80s was the era of Clause 29/Section 28; communities of gay men being decimated by AIDS; the casual physical violence and humiliation meted out to gay men (and Lesbians) and trans women (there were virtually no trans men then).

Hi OP, sorry would you mind changing the 1st line? I know it says Spoilers on the title, but the first line of each thread shows on the main page of the forum now (very annoying change Mumsnet) it's too late for me now but for anybody else that hasn't watched it yet! Thank you!
