Anyone watching? Only watching as I like High Bonneville. Not sure about it yet.

Likewise, so far it's not looking very promising is it?

Tophelleborine · 27/06/2024 21:31

It's not making me laugh, but it has a lot of people I like in it so I'm sticking with it for now.

Itisjustmyopinion · 27/06/2024 21:35

It may be a different scenario but I am guessing they may have taken a little bit of inspiration from a certain morning tv show for this 😀

iammyself · 27/06/2024 21:37

I binge watched it and it definitely got better. No spoilers but I think by episode 3 I began to see it was about something bigger than I'd realised! I think it's worth persevering.

Bankholidayhelp · 27/06/2024 21:40

On front row tonight they said episode three is the crux of the prog.

Walkingtheplank · 27/06/2024 21:41

I've come late to this.
Does the viewer know what the joke was?

AndAllOurYesterdays · 27/06/2024 21:48

I'm on episode 2 and was considering giving up. Will stick with it now I know 3 is the turning point

They're talking about a newsreaders arse making front page of the papers.....

Episode 4

I can start a binge thread? No spoilers on this one.
Have just finished. It was okay. More drama than dramedy.
I'd have preferred it as a 90/2 hour minute film.

Worth persevering imo, I thought it was quite clever in the end

Italiangreyhound · 06/07/2024 00:18

Brilliant. Definitely worth preserving with.

duc748 · 06/07/2024 13:40

This passed me by completely, but I just read a very positive review of it in the NS, I'm going to dip in tonight,

LenaMoon · 06/07/2024 20:31

Bit too sweary and not funny.

anywhichone · 09/08/2024 06:22

I've just watched this. I don't think it knew what it wanted to be. The first couple episodes were comedy, leaking the mess at wokeness , they were quite good.
Then episode three was brilliant showing how vile men with power can be.
Then there was the Prince Andrew style interview and it all went a bit bizarre. Did Madeline know for a fact the joke was about her? Was she always plotting his demise and pretending to be his friend? Or were they friends and this was a betrayal? Why did she keep making it look like they were sleeping together?
It was ok but I think it needed to either be a joke at cancel culture or a drama highlighting the objectification and sexualisation of women in the work place. It was a bit messy trying to be all.

ProvincialLady2024 · 26/08/2024 22:13

I've just finished. For the first three episodes I thought it was light and funny. I've finished the fourth episode and think "well done". It's so true - where are the non sexist, party, misogynistic men? Why don't they stand up for women?
