So the DNA of another man was found and people knew but literally denied an appeal ..
And even that took 2 years to tell him the appeal was denied!

Then years later the police couldn't find the victim's vest top and had destroyed it!!

Then they found that an independent body had taken samples of the victim's top. Who is this independent body and why would they do this? (Although it's a good thing they did) Just interested in his

And the witnesses were just dishonest...

And then the people helping Andy ended to having to take the police to court for full disclosure about the possible deal they made with the witnesses!!

Just whole thing unbelievable but it actually happened!

The team helping Andy seemed so lovely

Whole thing is just so sad

I saw most of it. Absolutely disgusting failure (for want of a better word) in so many processes.

I don't think there was any mention on the programme of Andy having to pay for his board and lodgings. I remember hearing about that on the news at the time, it's utterly beyond comprehension.

From what I can gather a percentage of the compensation innocent people receive is kept back because they haven't had to pay costs on the outside. Guilty people do not have to pay this.

I've just googled, Andrew Malkinson is yet to receive his compensation according to Appeal.

It made me so furious watching this. The more I see about enormous failures from the police the less safe and more angry I feel. In this day and age it is still like a boys club more concerned with covering their own incompetence than anything else.
As for the CRC denying his appeal words fail me. Of course as usual nobody will be held accountable it will just be the normal “lessons will be learned” bollocks.
I saw an interview with Andy a while ago where he said he really wanted to live most of the time with his friend in Holland but thanks to brexit he can only stay for three months now. Insult to injury.
Thank god for Appeal and charities like them.

Yes those charity workers were all amazing people. May he be handsomely
compensated very very soon.

People should lose jobs over this - GMP and CRRC. Absolutely disgusting what they did to Andy.
