Is the new Fireman Sam new or old

I've been watching (sorry, DS1 has been watching)Fireman Sam on Channel 5 and it's all different - narrated by John Alderton and everything. I'm not sure it it's older than the "normal" Sam or newer - does anyone know? It;s keeping me awake at night....

Think the John Alderton one is older, furrycat

Oh yes, and the sound of his "Norman Prrrice!" was hilarious. Much better than the new fangled one.
