The Twelve - Cinderella on Channel 4

This is the second one from the original Belgian series. Again it is engrossing! It does have subtitles. The format for those who don't know is a jury of 12 listening to a murder case and how their own personal lives interact with that and other members.

I've watched some of Walter Presents stuff before and enjoyed it, so have bookmarked this for when I have time to watch and follow the subtitles.

I enjoyed The Twelve - Cinderella Murder a lot, but was confused by the fact that the title sequence and other occasions when the whole jury is seen together, there are 14 of them! Apparently, in Belgium, there should be 12 in the jury, so what's going on here?

Slight correction to the above - In the jury room in episode 8, there are actually 12 jurors, but in the courtroom there are 14

I think the extra two will be reserves. They watch the whole trial but only have to be involved in the verdict if any of the original 12 drop out due to illness etc.

Thanks for clearing that up. It seems very sensible. I also liked the fact that Jurors can ask questions openly during the trial, although I can see that this could get out of hand. Then the Judge sits in on their deliberations afterwards to offer advice. This should have the effect of inhibiting the more extrovert jurors bullying the others.
