What the hell am I watching.
17 year old niece has been staying with me for the last three days because she’s unwell and wants company but her mum is working. She wanted to binge watch The O.C. Oh my god what the hell is this awful programme. I watched it the first time around when I was way to young and remember thinking how it was so romantic and the teens in it were so mature and right in their actions and that the adults just didn’t understand them. My niece thinks it’s romantic but does see that they are ridiculous but thinks that the teens are just expressing themselves. Honestly it’s worrying to think that programmes like this send messages to its viewers which are likely young that stealing cars, breaking up, cheating, lying is all romantic and ok because you love them. Also that it’s okay to be a spoilt brat and treat your friends and family like shit because it “feels” right to you and it’s shocking how immature ALL the characters are and that goes for the adults too. Anyone else watched a tv show from your early teens as an adult and actually think wtf is this tripe?
