Is anyone watching this? Highly recommended , it's odd and funny. Couple of podcasters,
one American, one Brit, head to a small Irish village to uncover an old mystery. The eels are a particularly inspired move. Go for it.

I’m on episode two and I’m enjoying it!

banivani · 13/05/2024 16:08

Yes, but slowly! It's surprisingly ok for a Netflix production. We're only on the third episode now though so I've seen no eels yet.

NoOneFellOffTheirChair · 14/05/2024 20:35

Definitely going to give this a go next time I take a sub out. Thanks. Sounds intriguing.

Focalpoint · 14/05/2024 20:37

Somehow reminds me of Scooby Do

Mumofyellows · 16/05/2024 13:06

I'm on episode 3, it's brilliant!

Screamingabdabz · 16/05/2024 13:08

I’m enjoying it too…Anybody spot the Executive Producers? The Obamas no less!

Really?

Just watched it and have some questions about the ending. Are spoilers allowed?

diddl · 21/05/2024 14:16

Featuring Mrs Doyle's evil twin

AuntieMarys · 21/05/2024 14:32

It's very good

FutureFeelsBleak · 25/05/2024 20:25

I'm enjoying it, but annoyingly keep falling asleep when I watch it in the evening.

Davros · 25/05/2024 22:30

I've watched the first episode thanks to this thread and really enjoyed it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Barack and Michele Obama in the titles!!

BlueRaincoat1 · 25/05/2024 22:35

I'm.on episode 5 and think it's great. Really entertaining and a good story woth twists and turns. And it's funny. Great locations.

duc748 · 25/05/2024 23:52

Good to hear. Been thinking about giving this a go, will have a look tomorrow.

banivani · 26/05/2024 13:19

Finished it now and while one of Netflix’s better offerings it’s not actually good. All Netflix productions in my opinion suffer from poor tempo, and the script keeps veering off into all these sidelines that they don’t really manage to hold together very well. The good stuff is some authentic irishness like when people don’t actually tell you anything but answer questions with “sure you know yourself” l ;) and some good actors. But no, it doesn’t really hang together.

I agree it was ok but I have some questions about the ending! Maybe I’m thick but what happened to the guy at the end? The one who blew up the device?

banivani · 26/05/2024 18:29

God I’ll be honest I was looking at my phone at that point, beyond caring. 😂

Flibbertigibbettytoes · 26/05/2024 21:58

I really liked it but did wonder how annoying it might be if you were Irish!

eggandonion · 26/05/2024 23:46

My husband really liked it. We are Irish. We live about 40 miles from where a lot was filmed.
I met an electrician on Friday who could have been in Bodkin. We had a baffling conversation.

newnamethanks · 27/05/2024 13:36

You did? Did you manage to find out where he keeps his eels? If not, you'll have to speak to him again . . .

OP posts:
eggandonion · 27/05/2024 14:22

I will have to organise a small electrical issue to lure him back.

newnamethanks · 27/05/2024 14:43

I asked my husband who says that he wouldn't be surprised if Dave the electrician has a tank of eels. Or knows a man who does.
