Could I start watching Eastenders now?

I watched it for a few years when it first started but just lost interest and drifted away from it.
Every time I happen to catch a bit of it (like tonight) I absolutely love it, but feel daunted by not knowing years of its history and who most of the characters are.
Loved the sour face on Bianca tonight and want to know what that is all about!
Can I ever get back into it without always feeling that I am lagging behind?

While in A&E I watched one episode after stopping years ago. It was watchable, it was meant to be the day before then the day of Kathy's wedding, but I didn't carry on and never would watch it again. Too many other good programmes to watch.

I am Sure there is a thread on here that you could Follow along and ask...

I had never watched Eastenders, but had watched Neighbours for over 20years. I am not able to see Neighbours anymore as l have not got whatever it shows on now.
I have drifted over to Eastenders, since just before the murder by the six.

I have not worked out the complicated relationships between people but am enjoying it.
New situations happening so quickly, one after another. Neighbours was much more peaceful.

I was thinking the same OP only last week!!
