I only got to see the last point of the final (literally) - well done Iga - sounds like it was a good match. DS2’s GF was here - she said that Aryna looked like a squashie sweet in her outfit and asked if Iga was happy or sad when she lay down on the court after she’d won

They need to warn Iga when they’re going to fire out those streamers - she almost fell off the stage in fright!

I’m hoping to watch some of the men’s final later but 5.30pm is not a good time (unless someone else wants to make dinner )

I don’t really mind who wins but it would be good for Andrey to get a win I think - I’m not sure if Felix will be at a disadvantage hardly having played in this tournament

I must admit, I didn't feel the match really took off until the final set, but then it did get quite tense. They are both so good, that it's hard to call a winner, and they were trading so many breaks.

I'm glad for the spectators (and Feli!) that they had a good final match after so many dropouts and retirements on the men's side.

I am looking forward to the men's final, I'm hoping to be in to watch it. Felix might not be completely match ready- hopefully he found someone to hit actual points with. Andrey has been a bit more 'zen' and I think Felix is a good match up for him in the final- I can't imagine there being any controversies (unless there are dodgy line calls).

Not sure who the umpire is - I will laugh if it's Fergus

And Barbora Krejcikova is in the women's doubles final, before the men's final. I like Barbora. She's had back problems and had barely played up to April this year. There were rumours flying that was pregnant- that she responded to that she was sticking with baby number 1 (her dog, who is very cute) .

Hopefully the women will get to do speeches after the final this time .

Several tennis birthdays today! Carlos is 21, Aryna is 26 and Chris Eubanks is 28. Cake all round!

May and June seem to be busy birthday months for tennis players
