It seems odd that Rafa’s match is so late but the winner then has to play Daniil who played first thing this morning.

I’m not sure why Rafa’s match is so late - the scheduling in Madrid can be a bit random!

I wondered if they wanted to give Rafa as much time as possible to recover from his match yesterday but I’m not sure that he will enjoy starting his match at about 10pm local time (I would be ready for bed!)

This is where I don't understand the extended tournaments- at the start of it , there have been rest days between matches but after yesterday- and tonight- he won't. Surely, it makes more sense to have rest days at the latter end of tournaments, when the matches will be getting tougher (in theory). ?
