I found it on iplayer and quite enjoying it. It’s very easy watching

It’s basically ventured around a Scottish palaeontologist with autism.

Came on here to search for a thread! I've just watched the first two episodes and am really enjoying it. Very funny and quite touching.

Toppl · 19/04/2024 06:11

Oh yay! It’s lovely isn’t it?

I watched the first one and really liked it.

Loved watching the first couple of episodes in hospital so planning on the rest now back at home. She was on Woman's Hour or similar yesterday - lovely lady and hoping for a second series.

museumum · 19/04/2024 11:32

yes, I've watched it all on iplayer, I enjoyed it a lot.

peppermintsforall · 19/04/2024 11:41

Finished it this morning as I'm not feeling well. It's the loveliest thing I've seen in ages and I loved it. Nina is Janey Godley's daughter. She was ace in this.

Toppl · 19/04/2024 12:01

Oh I didn’t realise Nina is janey godleys daughter. She seems like such a down to earth character it was so refreshing to watch. Most comedy these days seems to get a bit unnecessarily rude too so makes a lovely change.

It was ok, I’ve only seen the first two so far, but found ep 2 so derivative, I feel I’ve seen that scenario so many times in different sitcoms and films.

purpleme12 · 20/04/2024 00:36

I've seen episode 1 & 2 and really liking it so far

The beauty of this though is the perspective of Nina as an autistic woman. Her talking to her family / colleagues and also to herself about how the world around her is confusing is so insightful and interesting.

Costacoffeeplease · 20/04/2024 09:44

I just think it could have been done with a bit more imagination rather than what feels like a lazy rip off of so many other programmes/films.

Newgirls · 20/04/2024 09:46

Thanks will watch - sounds good.

i thought this was about mammoth - another bbc comedy. Much better than I thought - really good first episode.

purpleme12 · 20/04/2024 09:48

I tried Mammoth but didn't rate that

Dontjudgeme101 · 20/04/2024 13:17

I loved it and Mammoth too.

purpleme12 · 20/04/2024 22:41

Bump

Bucket07 · 20/04/2024 22:53

I'm enjoying it. I'm autistic and lots of what she does and says is what I would do and say if I wasn't masking 98% of the time

EnglishSpringerSpanielMum · 25/04/2024 12:07

Loved this series. Gentle humour with some real laugh out loud moments. Good insight into how Nina's autism affects her everyday life and I loved seeing the Art Gallery and Museum, where I spent many hours growing up in Glasgow. Ashley Storrie is worth following on social media as she is very open about her autism and her challenges/meltdowns.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2024 09:36

caught a bit of this last night.

purpleme12 · 30/04/2024 22:54

Specifically 🤣🤣

TitInATrance · 30/04/2024 23:00

I binge watched all of Dinosaur and loved it. Not so keen on Mammoth, I was at school in the 70s and the character doesn’t ring true to me.

purpleme12 · 06/05/2024 21:14

I loved this

Newgirls · 14/05/2024 16:36

The actor playing the coffee guy has won awards and been in train spotting - very versatile actor. A great cast across the board

Would he not have been 4 years old when trainspotting out in 1996? He was born in ‘92

purpleme12 · 04/10/2024 08:07

On Wikipedia it says he's been in Trainspotting at the theatre
I'm guessing that's what she meant
