Did anyone watch it tonight? Strange one - they had just renovated their house and although it didn't work well for them it seemed wasteful to re do it

It looked familiar. I thought it must be a repeat.

MichaelAndEagle · 15/04/2024 22:16

I didn't watch it, I also thought it was a repeat.

Mrspatmoresspoon · 15/04/2024 22:20

I watched it for about 20 minutes and then the incessant screeching of Angela Scanlon made me turn it over

RenoDakota · 18/04/2024 11:08

I have only just found this and am loving it. Jill Halfpenny's home is utterly gorgeous.
Don't think it is a new series though? Looked it up and someone talked about the JH episode being a repeat.

FindingMeno · 18/04/2024 11:12

What channel is it on please?

LemonyFace · 18/04/2024 11:14

I watched briefly and was sure it was a repeat. Angela S was pregnant and wearing the same green chequered dress in the last series.

kiwiane · 18/04/2024 11:16

They are just repeating series 4

shearwater2 · 18/04/2024 11:42

I loved the Jill Halfpenny one.

Love Angela but they need to edit the show differently for the BBC than they do for selling to other commercial channels who will have four ad breaks in it or something. It's so repetitive and has so much filler.

Just make it - show current house and introduce owners. Design 1. Design 2.

A bit about the build process and any issues they had. Then the big reveal. Make it a half an hour programme. If there is time, do the design inspiration bit (loved seeing Burgh Island hotel).

But don't keep showing what we just saw five minutes ago and treat viewers as if they have the memory of a goldfish, it makes it so boring. Get on with it!

BBC2 and iPlayer.

I haven't seen this since the first series where ALL of the guy's (Robert?) designs features box seating!

I couldn't unsee it. He always seemed to include it!

Lightbulb moment! I watched Lucy Worsley's programme about re-building Notre Dame the other day and was driven to distraction by the repetition. Was that the same 'filler' problem?
Why don't they do what Attenborough does and tack on a 15 minutes mini-programme at the end? I'd like to see more of the process. At the moment it's here's a problem, here's two designs and ... shazzam ... here's the finished product! It's not terribly helpful to anyone thinking of doing something similar.

Koptforitagain · 19/04/2024 02:54

I love this show. How I’d love to have £80 to change my house. Where do they find this amount of cash?

i really like Angela but that green dress WTAF?

EscapeTheCastle · 23/04/2024 20:00

This show grinds my gears. The shouting and screaming the "aaarghhh, you've got a pantry!!!!!"

"The house was gloomy and dated" que the room being shown with a special BBC gloom filter added.
Owner of home nearly cries and states its "been emotional" while the host nods frantically while gurning and laughing.
The man of the house says the fact that its gone over budget by 100k is totally worth it but you me and the cameraman can see his hands shaking and his forehead sweating.
Idiots - all of them.

TinselSniffer · 25/04/2024 09:47

I haven't watched many of these so apologies if this has been answered in other episodes; I get the virtual reality bits where they're wearing VR goggles. But what are they looking at in the bits where they're not wearing goggles but are looking round as if they're in the proposed new rooms? They seem to be pretending to be in something like those immersive art exhibitions, although it's obvious that the background is added after filming like a blue screen?

FurQuenelle · 25/04/2024 12:53

@TinselSniffer yes, that drives me mad too. I start to lose all sense of what is "real". Caught bits of the end of the one with the pool last night. In all of the VR footage the pool was immaculate and looked like something out of a Hollywood film shoot, but when they showed it during the renovation it was nothing like that.

We have had pools in the past and I could imagine what it was going to look like when the cover came off! I didn't see the actual reveal so maybe it was lovely. I really want to swim in that Sky Pool in London though!

IloveID · 25/04/2024 14:58

I love it, was delighted to find 5 episodes I hadn't seen before, so I must have missed those when they were shown first.

No sure about Angela Scanlon, she can be so annoying, but there is something I like about her at the same time.

IloveID · 25/04/2024 15:00

Im enjoying Remarkable renovations also, but Mr. George Clark is sooo annoying, with the fake guffaw.

Meredusoleil · 25/06/2024 20:15

New episode tonight?

RappersNeedChapstick · 25/06/2024 20:58

Is it a new series @Meredusoleil? I've just switched it on.

Meredusoleil · 25/06/2024 20:59

Not sure, but I don't remember seeing this one.

Meredusoleil · 25/06/2024 21:11

Looks like it's on again tomorrow night too!

punintended · 26/06/2024 16:04

I'm pretty sure I remember this one so it's a repeat.
