Anyone still watching it? Two hours seems a bit long now. Weird that Betty, the daughter, seems to have disappeared!

I love it however the new series showed, I think, 3 episodes then it vanished (I'm in Ireland, watching it on Virgin Media).

Betty was in the last one I saw, she was around 8 I think.

Oh gosh it's back? Or did it never go away? I was always a fan of John Nettles (old enough to have watched Bergerac) but like the 'new guy' too. I remember a dog but not a kid (must have missed a few seasons).

I like it but I miss the old Barnaby and Joyce.

I’ve watched it from the start, some episodes have been brilliant… some not so… and some completely naff!!
i think they are starting to run out of ideas (think it’s about 23/24 years old now?) and it must be difficult to dream up new plots, but it’s still very much a “Sunday night, cup of tea and biscuits” viewing in our house! Loved Troy in the early days, pity he left, he was so shockable and funny.
I often re-read the books where the series came from, they’re a nice easy read.

DH kept saying, 'Where is Betty', maybe its like Eastenders and she is hidden away or maybe she will come back with a new head and they haven't sorted it out yet

I thought this was a brand new series but some people on a FB page were saying that they'd seen it before. Looks like that episode isn't going to be followed by further new ones any time soon.

I thought it was a pretty silly episode and like a PP said, it's starting to run out of ideas. OH and I both fell asleep during it so that sums it up.

Neil Dudgeon is not my idea of a proper detective. And the casting seems to be a bit forced and politically correct. Maybe I'm getting older and cranky - but the show seems to have gone downhill since John Nettles left.

I can't stand the Annette Badland pathologist character. Totally unbelievable and all the sly remarks about her sex life/racy past are unnecessary and pointless
