I would! Obvious mentions of boobs and bums and drugs but I don’t remember anything too bad in it?

LampHat · 02/04/2024 14:19

I do love it and.I’d let them watch it, but I probably wouldn’t watch it with them!

tulipdoo · 02/04/2024 14:23

I watched it when I was that age!

No idea if it’s dated well? Not seen it in years but it was one of my favourites

Treatmewell · 02/04/2024 17:06

ok. That's good! I thought maybe it was a bit too up against the edge of not appropriate (masturbation, sex yada yada) but he LOVES it and I loved it, so am glad I'm not a totally negligent parent watching it with him

Godno. The cringe. (Theirs obvs)

FourLeggedBuckers · 02/04/2024 18:33

I’m not sure it’s aged very well. There is definitely some ableist language in early episodes which made it uncomfortable viewing for me. Which is a shame as it has some good elements and I have fond memories of it first time round.

Haggisfish3 · 02/04/2024 18:34

Yes, I have done.

Treatmewell · 02/04/2024 18:36

I'd agree with the language @FourLeggedBuckers - but we discuss stuff that is out of date. We found similar when watching Modern Family. It was also outmoded in places.

@Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride ha! No, he's cool with it. He just laughs. I haven't noticed a massive cringe yet.

I wouldn't- thinking of the episode in season 2 with Nancy and Jed shagging. But I might let him watch it without me. We watch Friday Night Dinner here and thinking of starting Inbetweeners soon with our son (also 13)

singingthypraises · 02/04/2024 19:12

Jez not Jed! Spellcheck.

Skintdancemum · 02/04/2024 19:13

yes

Treatmewell · 02/04/2024 21:39

Inbetweeners is a good one! He watched Friday Night Dinner - I didn't like it.

No way - I wouldn’t be against them watching it but couldn’t watch the sex scenes with a child.
