Yah. It’s back. I enjoyed s1

wasnt always a murder and clever plots

Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

Love this show thanks for the heads up.
Sounds like they might go for a bit more serious crime mixed in this season which I felt was slightly lacking last season.
Looking forward to it 🎉

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/03/2024 13:52

Welcome @Ditzydaisychain

I think they want a death in paradise feel to it hence murders /death but also in own right as puzzles and drama

I still think she will get preg naturally

I think she will end up pregnant also. Although a foster to adopt storyline would be lovely.

I felt the crimes suited the area they are in, but a few more serious crimes would have made for a more interesting DIP series. Was all very tame but enjoyable. It had a more Shakespeare and Hathaway vibe for me than death in paradise.

Thanks for the heads up

The Australian spin off is Return to Paradise, due to be screened over there some time this year, and also on the BBC - later this year? Looks like the relationship with the original is really just the concept.

This is what they say about it on the link above:

The ABC is thrilled to announce that the Death in Paradise franchise has hit our shores with an original, home grown spinoff series, Return to Paradise, coming to ABC in 2024. The series is produced by BBC Studios Productions Australia with Red Planet Pictures for the ABC in association with the BBC, who will screen the series on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK. Return to Paradise combines the DNA of the original global smash hit murder mystery series, with a new, unique Australian take.
Set in the idyllic, beachside hamlet of Dolphin Cove, Return to Paradise is six gripping, twisting and fiendishly clever murder mysteries – all set against the spectacular backdrop of the Australian coastal landscape.
Australian ex-pat Mackenzie Clarke is the seemingly golden girl of the London Metropolitan police force – with an intuitive approach to detective work, she has built a reputation for being able to crack the most impossible of cases. However, she’s suddenly forced to up sticks and move back to her childhood home of Dolphin Cove, a beautiful, coastal paradise… and Mackenzie’s worst nightmare.
Having escaped her hometown at the earliest opportunity six years ago, Mack vowed she'd never come back, leaving a lot of unfinished business and unanswered questions. On her return she’s still no fan of the town, and the people of Dolphin Cove are certainly no fans of hers. In fact everyone would prefer her not to be there, including Mackenzie herself.
But when a murder takes place in Dolphin Cove, Mack can’t help but put her inspired detective brilliance to good use and determines, despite her reservations, that she needs to make the best of it, including tying up the loose ends with the man she left at the altar six years ago.
Created and Executive Produced by Peter Mattessi, James Hall and Robert Thorogood, Return to Paradise features a crack Australian writing team led by Mattessi alongside Elizabeth Coleman, Alexandra Collier and Kodie Bedford.
