Yah. It’s back. I enjoyed s1

wasnt always a murder and clever plots

Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

I might give the BA a go. Missed it first time around. I remember Barbara Flynn with great affection from A Very Peculiar Practice. I'd love to see that again.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 12/04/2024 22:06

It may not have aged well but I loved it back in the day.

InMySpareTime · 12/04/2024 22:16

Why didn't Humphrey mention the break in when he went back to the boat to change his shoe?

suburburban · 12/04/2024 22:21

I don't understand why they couldn't all stay in the house.

Cheeky making mum move to the boat

Coz the mum wasn't on paperwork so meant would have taken longer to dbs and verify her and start over again

Thanks that makes sense

MissHavershamReturns · 12/04/2024 23:47

I liked today’s one. I feel like it’s slightly better this season

MonkeyTennis34 · 13/04/2024 10:16

This show is so fluffy, predictable, clichéd.....but I love it!

mrsnjw · 13/04/2024 11:50

Why did Peter ask her to go if he knew that his wife would be at the art showing? It doesn't make sense 🤔

MissHavershamReturns · 13/04/2024 13:04

@mrsnjw i think he only asked his wife after Anne said she couldn’t go

MissHavershamReturns · 13/04/2024 13:05

I quite liked this episode - the good kind of fluffy crap. It’s growing on me. Esther is much better. Kelby still a criminal underuse of a really good actor

jay55 · 13/04/2024 13:50

I enjoy the weekly mystery/crime and hate the ongoing couple storyline. I'd happily fast forward those parts.

I do like the mums dating life though.

And I do appreciate the reality of a policeman not being able to afford a decent house in a tourist town these days.

Aha...... see, my spidery instincts were right about Richard / Peter Davison. Knew he was a bad un from the start.

I enjoyed this episode too.
Seemed a smaller % of things that was unlikely / unbelievable.

When Zoe arrived and said "I heard the cafe had been broken in to" I did find myself asking how she knew.....

mrsnjw · 13/04/2024 20:06

I've only just found out that David tenant is his son in law 🤣

Did Anne definitely say that she wouldn't go?

Was he just after company because his wife didn't like to go out much?

Not that that excuses it of course!

Hate that Anne has that lovely house & is now on the boat!

Has anyone "marched" their baby to sleep?

MissHavershamReturns · 16/04/2024 19:56

@diddl she said she couldn’t due to it being her late husband’s birthday I think it was. Then he was like right oh I’ll take the boring old wife Hmm

Damnyourheadshoulderskneesandtoes · 17/04/2024 15:32

I watched Fridays episode this afternoon, then rewatched S1E1 straight after. I really enjoyed Series 1 a lot more, it focused much more on the actual crimes than the personal dramas. All the relationships and soppy stuff gives it the air of the kind of series that should be on in the daytime between Doctors and Bargain Hunt.

diddl · 17/04/2024 15:34

Yes-they often seem to get too "soapy" don't they?

Straight to theatre, without a primary survey and any other treatment. I don't think!

HopelessAndWondering · 19/04/2024 20:58

Martha's mum playing darts 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2024 22:11

Seemed a little complicated tonight's

It's got silly. Why would 2 adults let her controlling overenmeshed mother organise their wedding? I've always disliked the mother but she has got silly now. Why was building on a moorland such an awful thing? Is it "business bad, save the moorland good". It's like a children's programme

Toddlerteaplease · 20/04/2024 05:50

And I can't imagine someone stabbing them self with an arrow like that..
