Yah. It’s back. I enjoyed s1

wasnt always a murder and clever plots

Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

Guessing the lack of blood made them reliese it could be a different cause

Ans obv have to do tox bloods etx

But if someone is stabbed you assume that's the cause of death

Well that's what didn't make sense and irritated the life out of me. A murdered person would have a post-mortem which would surely show that the cause of death wasn't from a stab wound. Admittedly toxicology can take weeks/months especially if they don't know what they're looking for so may take a while to identify any poison. But the anomaly of the no blood is the first thing a pathologist would have looked at or don't they have any in Cornwall??

Think they wanted some privacy

Ans he bought the boat

I may be mistaken but did they something about fostering? How is that going to work on the boat?

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/03/2024 22:30

True. They mentioned it

I still think she will get preg naturally
Maybe how s2 will end

Is Death in Paradise like this?

I mean I watch Beyond Paradise with my child. I've never watched Death in Paradise. Is this one I can watch with my child?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/03/2024 22:11

Yes, it's very safe viewing. I think DiP is better than BP.

RightOnTheEdge · 29/03/2024 22:13

I'd say yes @purpleme12. My dd loves Death In Paradise. She's 13 now but has been watching for a few years.
There are obviously murders but nothing too gory. There's no bad language or sex scenes.

Fifiesta · 29/03/2024 22:15

We watched the beginning of the new series last week, and were really disappointed. I have just watched episode 2 and it’s got its mojo back.
Really stupid of the producers to open the new series with such a weak episode.
I almost didn’t bother tuning in again, and I did enjoyed it tonight.
Unfortunately I think it may well have lost viewers,

usernamedifferent · 29/03/2024 22:18

Surely they’re not going to be approved for fostering whilst they live on the tiny houseboat ? Does it even have separate rooms? A functioning bathroom? Crazy storyline

I didn't bother watching - I had recorded Episode 2 but deleted it.

I agree and I thought Martha didn’t want children, and they almost split over it.

I thought the main storyline was stronger last night.

purpleme12 · 30/03/2024 10:53

She didn't want to put herself through IVF anymore did she

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/03/2024 22:36

She couldn't cope with the failure of ivf

Or worse being preg and mc

I totally get that after 4 failed ivf but glad we did it again as 5th meant I now have mini blondes

But yes no way would a boat be safe

OP posts:
InMySpareTime · 31/03/2024 06:45

A boat wouldn't be safe for a toddler but would be fine for an older child or teenager, especially one that had grown up near the coast.

MeinKraft · 01/04/2024 22:58

Just caught up on the first 2 episodes, the first one was so sad and the silly ending with Humph driving off in the steam train was jarring with that lovely couple (who I was inclined to like because they were both in ghosts!) in the cell.

I wish they'd give PC Kelby a decent storyline, and the detectives invest in developing his confidence and skills a bit rather than just tutting and eye rolling when he gets something wrong.

I like the storyline about Martha's mum finding love though Smile

This.
Their boat clearly doesn't have the space, let alone the safety aspect.

E3

When a dying woman goes missing from local fishing trawler Humphrey suspects there's more to her disappearance

BettyOBarley · 05/04/2024 20:49

I really want to like this as we love DIP, but the acting from all involved is just so bloody terrible... (Except Humphrey of course!)

The storylines seem a bit better this series though.

jay55 · 05/04/2024 21:04

Martha is so unlikable.
The stealing the house is ridiculous.

I liked the mystery this week though.

Riverlee · 05/04/2024 21:28

Just watching the two of them sitting in lounge with cups of tea and enormous plates of cake. Quite a comical scene, except the cups are obviously empty!

Yeah same it was a good mystery, and next weeks looks right up my street as well.

What were they thinking saying to the social worker about the house Confused right after she's said foster children need a secure and stable environment they decide to tell her that they shift about between house and boat Hmm

I liked the line from Martha's mum about how she'd spent her life being supportive. I don't understand Martha at all. You'd think she would want her mum to be happy.

GrandHighPoohbah · 06/04/2024 15:16

Yes, it's a shame that Martha isn't really very likeable. I find her quite self absorbed. Do we think Martha's mum will move in with Richard and Humphrey and Martha will ditch the boat to live in the house?

InMySpareTime · 06/04/2024 15:24

I don't get why they couldn't just say that they have free access to the secure garden at the house whenever a foster kid wants to play. Surely that's more reasonable than taking over M's mum's house entirely?
The SW will have been baffled at them agreeing to a home visit and then saying that their actual home was a house (that she couldn't see as part of the home visit that day) but they like to call a boat their home.

butterpuffed · 06/04/2024 16:39

I enjoyed the first two episodes but thought this one was a bit silly , with H and Martha deciding to swap their boat for M's mother's house .

I'm not sure about Anne's new man , think he may be dodgy .

Toddlerteaplease · 06/04/2024 21:15

I really want it to work out for Martha's mum and Richard. I also could t understand why they did t just say they had access to the garden. Can't imagine them being approved, due to the boat!
