Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

Or someone with early onset dementia making and carrying out such a complicated plan, then keeping it secret.

Why did the owner plan his resort right over where he buried his brother anyway? And what was stopping him digging up and re-burying the body elsewhere rather than just cutting a wing off his plans?

I was hoping the home videos would show a peregrine nest in the background so the fake nest was a waste of time as there were actually real birds about.

It was all too much from the tattoo onwards, just nonsense.

Honestly, a five year old could write a better script. It really is appalling dross. I keep watching it because it’s oddly comforting and there is nothing really unpleasant. How can the actors keep a straight face?

The finale is obviously going to be the wedding and either a call to say a foster child is coming or they find out M is pregnant. In between all of this Richard/Peter appears with flowers pleading with Anne. A small crime happens against a backing track of spooky music followed later by a lovely Kate Rusby song. It is solved!

I actually thought that Zoe would be listening when Esther confessed!

Surely she could find out that he dad died on the way?

I would have thought that it would be a local news story.

When they said that the guy who "disappeared" had a metal plate(?) I thought that they would end up detecting for him!

She didn't seem to be in much discomfort in hospital after the 'complicated surgery' either. A few days later she was walking around quite normally with no issues at all! It's ludicrous.

To be fair @mydogisthebest i actually love Kate Rusby (modern folk genre). She did the Little Birds cover in the last episode. It annoys me how they use it though.

In other news, I've just discovered that 3 little birds is a Bob Marley song!

Never knew that that was the title of it!

I always forget that is the title of that song. Like the Bob Marley version, did not like the version in Beyond Paradise

@mydogisthebest it didn’t go well with the scene, but the Kate Rusby album it comes from which is Hand Me Down and all covers unusually for her is lovely.

It was funny because I have subtitles on so don't have the volume up much.

When Martha & Zoe were chatting last week a few lyrics popped up & I didn't realise it wasn't the Bob Marley version!

Then this week when Esther was talking about Three Little Birds I was thinking "but they played that Bob Marley song last week when Z&M were chatting last week"!😂

Esther had her tattoo done extremely quickly , must've been in her lunch hour in between all the detective work ! I prefer the Bob Marley version of Three Little Birds too .
