Yah. It’s back. I enjoyed s1

wasnt always a murder and clever plots

Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

Omg how annoying was Martha in the final episode. Just waking up one morning and deciding to start complaining about the wedding, then moping around about how everything always goes wrong for them Confused

The wee lad suddenly turning up and being left on the boat ConfusedConfusedConfused

Although I did laugh at Peter Barlow and William Hague

That’s good news. While I find the mum annoying and some of the storylines are a bit preposterous, I do enjoy watching it!

I increasingly dislike this programme. It minimises the interesting bit of DIP (the murder mystery) and maximises interpersonal drama and OTT emotionality. Martha and her mother are both awful, the series doesn't need cutesy kids added to it, neither of them have time to look after a child.

purpleme12 · 03/05/2024 13:44

Why did you watch it then

suburburban · 03/05/2024 14:37

Out of habit and the scenery is nice

I like Kris Marshall

Mum and Martha are irritating plus receptionist plait women

PuttingDownRoots · 03/05/2024 14:57

Aw I love Margo! I've been rewatching S1 and Martha is awful, really awful. She makes huge life decisions on her own, just tells Humphrey it's happening and then mopes around after feeling sorry for herself while Humph gets on with as well as solving crimes. She's done it loads, it's not just the wedding.

Sack her off and take your life back Humphrey!! I'll go out with you if you're lonely Grin

Quite enjoyed this, love Mark Heap.

InMySpareTime · 28/12/2024 08:01

DH was convinced Mark Heap was dead, so we had to pause for a bit while he checked Wikipedia.
The nutmeg comment was too blatant not to be a clue, but I liked the video charades at the end.
Those Christingle candles were massive though!

ChessieFL · 28/12/2024 10:03

I liked it. Bit spooky and nice and Christmassy.

suburburban · 28/12/2024 12:02

This was very good

Floralnomad · 28/12/2024 17:12

I think that was actually one of the best episodes and I went in with very low expectations.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2024 00:41

Finally seen

Scary @BillStickersIsInnocent ??

Clever plot

I didn't get the nutmeg clue

Horrible son in law

Lovely his other daughter came home from dubai with grandkids

Was a massive house and gardens so yes prob better off selling it and enjoying life /not such huge heating bills etx

What a lovely teen loving his little brother

Tho sounds like little brother wasn't enjoying being with his dad and step mum

BillStickersIsInnocent · 29/12/2024 06:27

Yes I thought so, I am a big wimp though @Blondeshavemorefun !

Even though the clues about hallucinations were there early on, it’s still quite disturbing to see them and the effect on the widower. The house and eerie music didn’t help either.

I thought it was a really good episode, much better than last year’s Christmas special.

diddl · 29/12/2024 21:25

Enjoyed that!

Couldn't help hoping that they would bring the little brother over for Christmas.

If they usually lived together wouldn't they have tried to keep them together?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2024 21:41

I thought that @diddl But not the same dad

So younger one went to his dad
