Details about the plot of the upcoming series are few and far between, but cast members have been dropping some hints as to what fans should expect. Speaking on The One Show, Marshall said: "We've got a murder on a steam train, a medium who predicts arson attacks – that's quite a good one – a local fishing legend lost at sea. We've got loads of good stuff."

Last season saw Goodman get to know his new colleagues – they initially thought he was a little bit odd – and solve a few crimes alongside his new partner, DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi).

Meanwhile, Goodman and his girlfriend Martha were trying, and struggling, to conceive. After some difficult rounds of IVF, Martha chose not to continue trying for a baby, and this resulted in a major fallout between the two. At the end of the series the couple made up, and in season two it looks like the pair are back stronger than ever.

I didn't think it was realistic that Esther would get the tattoo at all tbh.

I certainly wouldn't-can't stand needles!

No 16 year old getting a tattoo is going to be pleased with their mum getting the same tattoo! Even if it does have a shared meaning.

On a different and very sad note did anyone see the horrible fentanyl murderer watched Beyond Paradise (burglary episode from season one) after he had poisoned the poor couple

Does anyone recognise any of Barbara Flynn's (Martha's Mum's) clothes ? Appreciate they might be from different places but my Mum has loved everything she's worn and am thinking would be a great birthday present if I could find even one of the tops or dresses

It was laughable. Hand a foster child over to total strangers he has never met with no preparation on either side on the day of the foster parents wedding. Then leave the child to play unattended on a boat, drag him around for hours stuffing him with ice creams then take him to a police station and let him play on a computer for hours whilst stuffing himself with sweets or biscuits. Give him no dinner but let him play on the beach whilst the adults argue . It was laughable. Foster child as prop.
As for the cancelled wedding… 🫣

I can’t believe Martha just forgave her mum so easily. I would have been livid if my mum had just cancelled my wedding! I know they had had an argument about it but still!

My first reaction was... this paves the way for a destination wedding in Saint Marie at Christmas
