Anyone else watched this? I found it one of the most difficult films ever to watch and can only feel sadness in my heart for anyone who had to live through those 20 days ( and in the Ukraine since the filming).

Me. It was so upsetting. And I was just watching it from my comfortable warm sofa.
Imagine if that had been me and my family. When they were all looking to the police and army to tell them what to do and no-one knew. What would I do? I have no idea.

And the pregnant women, i felt so much for them. You're so vulnerable when you're heavily pregnant. You can't run or climb or squeeze in anywhere. This huge physical thing is about to happen to you but you dont know where or when and there's nothing you can do.

We are so lucky.

I just saw ten minutes of it and to my shame, I couldn’t deal with it.

Where can you watch this, thanks

Rae36 · 13/03/2024 20:17

Channel 4

My sister in law is Ukrainian and from Mariupol. She and BIL live and raise their DC here. It took SIL's lovely Mum 6 weeks to get out and for 4 of them, she had no means of contacting us. She managed to get to Italy and then we arranged getting her to the UK. Before leaving, she'd lost everything. Her parents, SIL's grandparents, refused to leave. They said they'd been born in Mariupol and would take their chances.

Oh god, Showy, do you have any news on your SIL's grandparents now? Are they safe now? (As far as that word has any meaning there?)

I watched half an hour of this last night on the channel 4 app

I can see why it won an Oscar

But I couldn't manage more than half an hour

The sadness for Ukrainians and the pure rage and impotence for the savages that think they have the right to invade another country and murder its citizens in this century

I'll watch the rest when I'm feeling less angry.

I think it is a must watch though.
