I’m so sad to hear dear Dave has died. I read an amazing tribute from Si and it moved me to tears. I always felt like Dave was your best mate, who could cook. Sincere condolences to his family and friends

Yesterday I saw an homage the two of them did to the famous Morecambe and Wise "getting breakfast" sketch. I love that sketch, this was so sweet. Such a gentle charming bloke. Wasn't he a make up artist originally?

Yes, he was. I saw somewhere that he was the first male make-up artist the BBC had ever employed. A genius with prosthetics, apparently. So he had two very successful careers, and seems to have been a genuinely really nice, honest straightforward person. A life well lived, but cut cruelly short. 66 is no age at all these days.

This one actually made me quite sad. Si's tribute was lovely.

These two seem like genuine best friends (like Kirsty and Phil) and I loved watching them together.

I had actual tears when I heard of his death as I had thought he was well on the road to recovery. So sad. The rest of this series will be a tribute to him.
