I watched two different documentaries in the 80’s (or very early 90’s) that have stayed with me and I’d want to watch again to see if I have a different perspective looking back.
One was about adoption. It was the first documentary about adopters that I’d seen (although lots since). It featured different families and their highlights and struggles. One family seemed quite inexperienced and went from no children to three and I think it broke down. One couple were adopters of two boys who were older teens at the time of the documentary and the mum wanted to sue or was suing the local authority for not sharing the severity of their difficulties / not supporting. Her relationship with them had broken down while dad had slightly better relationship.
The second was about an eccentric rich family (not sure if one off or series. It followed this family who lived in a big house with big grounds (but not well maintained I think) and they had a son whose behaviour they couldn’t manage. He took their car (he was probably less than 12) and drove around grounds with parents running after this shouting (the “Fenton” dog video reminded me of this family.
can anyone remember. I don’t know why they’ve stuck in my head and google searches haven’t helped.
