Hello tommorow!

ponia · 07/02/2024 22:18

Bad sisters was a great mix of humour and drama, I loved it.

Agecanonix · 07/02/2024 22:19

Slow horses
The morning show
Ted lasso
Blackbird.

I've never wanted to recommend Apple TV at all before but it's really good now. So is Prime, Netflix is rubbish and clunky.

Sugarpuffy · 07/02/2024 22:22

I took a free trial of Apple TV to watch Bad Sisters and I loved it. Disappointed my free trial expired before the release of the next season.

CrushingOnRubies · 07/02/2024 22:31

Bad sisters
The morning show

sophi1995 · 07/02/2024 22:33

Severance - excellent
Black Bird - mini series but very good
Hijack - ridiculously full of potholes but enjoyable none the less
Bad Sisters - everything that Sharon Horgan does is gold!

Hedgehogsaremything · 07/02/2024 22:33

Pachinko
The Buccaneers
Hijack

all the ones mentioned above too.

RobinEllacotStrike · 08/02/2024 00:24

I must be the only one who found Slow Horses incredibly dull? First series left me cold and bored. Can't help wondering what on earth did I miss?

OnlyOpenMouthToChangeFeet · 08/02/2024 00:41

All the above, plus Criminal Record. Peter Capaldi is brilliant.

Verite1 · 08/02/2024 02:04

Big yes to criminal record

SilverBranchGoldenPears · 08/02/2024 04:47

Severance has a second season coming??? Awesome.

All of the above are good. Add in Lessons in Chemistry and Peripherals especially.

Apple has kicked it
out of the park since Covid with their TV offerings

The Crowded Room with Tom Holland is amazing

Chemenger · 08/02/2024 06:32

Slow Horses

StillCreatingAName · 08/02/2024 06:33

Currently watching Criminal Record on there - Peter Capaldi shifts the mood every time he’s on screen, it’s so good.

Already watched and recommend:
Slow Horses
Bad Sisters
The Morning Show
Lessons In Chemistry (still worth watching even if you’ve read the book)
Hijack
Shrinking
Loot

(I’m probably the only one who hasn’t yet watched Ted Lasso, still to do)

Globules · 08/02/2024 06:38

What is wrong with you @StillCreatingAName ???????

Get yourself believing!

Seconding, thirding, fourthing Ted

Criminal record is brilliant.
Shrinking
Michael j fox documentary
Hijack
Crowded room

gaggiagirl · 08/02/2024 06:39

@SilverBranchGoldenPears season 2 of severance was delayed during the writers strike but it's now filming so hopefully later this year we will watch it.

Criminal record is great
Hijack was good fun

There was a recent thread about this because I asked the same question! If you are interested https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/tellyaddicts/4937764-apple-tv-3-months-free-vm-offer-anything-worth-watching-thanks?page=3&reply=131575497 and if this bookmark has worked will take you to a post where there is a long list!

I really enjoyed Silo - having an almost standard dective thread intertwined with the futuristic plot was really interesting.

I am enjoying Criminal Record but in fact think Peter Capaldi in fact looks out of place acting a sort of pantomime villain whilst everyone else if being quite naturalistic.

I liked The Morning Show although in the same was as The Good Fight was a bit too pleased with how clever it was.

(I'm adding comments to give some idea of the type of show.)

I've watched a couple of films which haven't really stuck in my mind but like having acess to films as normally dont have the opportunity to watch. One with Tom Hanks sometime in the futue driving across a devated US with a robot and a dog ... !! Its called Finch.

Talking of films I started watching Servant which I saw was made by M. Night Shyamalan and thought it would be a whimsical film to relax to ie like Sixth Sense. Turns out it is a series, which sort of hooked me (abour to start series 3). Far from being whimsical its a sort of modern Gothic thriller with a very strange plot and lots of funny comments about contemporary culture (I would say yuppie but whatever is the current word). But ..... I feel a bit guilty liking it because the core of the story is the death of a baby and the impact on the mother, so for many this may be totally impossible to watch.
