It started with all Passion Spent which I really enjoyed. There will be other titles.

BBC Four - All Passion Spent, Series 1 - Episode guide

All episodes of Series 1

Isn't it a very old series? It seems to have first been shown in December 1986.

They seem to be padding out their programmes by raiding the archives.

But now I have followed your link to the listing, I am tempted to watch.

Period dramas can often stand the test of time, better than what was contemporary at the time.

So thanks!

I’m loving it! I realised halfway through the first episode that I’d read the book, but I can’t remember what happens.

I started watching All Passions Spent and really wanted to watch.

But the really stupid back ground music just drove me mad.

I remember that the time I thought Call the Midwife had started to go downhill was when then had really wimpy music endlessly droning on in the back ground and thought it some modern fad.

But it was here from some decades ago. With the calibre of the actors involved it hardly needed musical promopts to tell us how to feel.

Not sure I can put up with it. Just found it so distracting.

(Hadn't realised, but the must have recently been on Radio 4 Extra as a radio play, as realised I recognised the plot.)
