Has anyone watched Truelove? I've now watched the full series and I'm not sure whether I liked it or not! Some of it seemed a bit unbelievable to me. Are modern coppers allowed to go off and do their own thing? It all seemed a bit convenient that some things fell into place. Like Kens mate knowing how to track down David so quickly! Thoughts anyone?

I watched the one where the woman ended her life. Strange. Didn’t watch more.

Watching the final episode right now- loved it!

I enjoyed it. The acting was superb and the twist was a good one.

The big twist turns on that event. It's worth watching.

Ah but did any of you cry and say in a whimpering voice "Noo, noo, don't leave Ken"!!!! 🤣🤣🤣!

I've just finished this , can't believe how implausible it all was.

Phil (retired assistant chief constable, didn she mention that?) Recklessly assistanting folk to kill themselves, I mean why? Both perfectly able to do so themselves. She was that close to Tom she didn't even know he was gay.

Poor Marion, Phil and Ken not even bothering to look into out patient appointments etc just assist her to end her life on her husbands say so. Top policing Phil 🙄.

Such a good cast, wasted on such nonsense. Why would the sarge have popped round in his footie kit?! as a pp said basic policing all out the window.

I don't support assisted suicide and this is why, folk can't just take it upon themselves when they aren't in possession of the facts.

We’re halfway through. I liked the twist.
Greatly amused by how Phil keeps going on about the glass ceiling and what a great cop she was but does really stupid things all the time so you can imagine the appointments committee going ‘Phil? Nah she really fancies herself but she’s not as good as she thinks she is. No common sense.’
Also it seems deeply implausible that young keen policewoman would be suspicious of a woman with dementia killing herself not long after her brother died by what was officially dementia but probably people will have thought was actually suicide- it’s hardly a suspicious cluster for a sick and bereaved person to also kill herself, given that sadly suicides do often give rise to others.

Sorry I meant officially misadventure not dementia.

I know! She must've got to where she did due to an equality tick boxing exercise she certainly didn't display any intelligence or common sense. Funny, likeable character though just very chaotic.

Poor Sarge though. Why do a house call alone?! they were all a bunch of blithering idiots even the lovely Ken stretched the imagination going rogue with a gun when he'd had to have his arm twisted previously for any crim activity.

And Tom was capable of handling a yacht but not of killing himself without help. I thought the point of assisted suicide was when people are mentally lucid but physically incapable. Seems very selfish to me to try to get your friends to do it, with all the potential risks to them, when you are capable of managing it yourself. And he didn’t even bother to disable the GPS first.

Yes I mean I'm presuming it was for the emotional support but then he tricked them which seemed a bit off.

He'd have been better off exaggerating his pain and getting a load of meds to overdose on. Sorry, I didn't mean to be glib about suicide but this series seemed to do just that. Whisky and dancing before handing over drugs just seemed so inappropriate.
