Oh, God.
Watched this last night and I still can't farkin' remember all of it!
The wife (Daniella Nardini looking rough and doing a dodgy accent) turned out to be the woman who had been rescued from drowning in the river by the Oliver guy (who was castrated). She left Oxford for a while but had returned. The Posh diplomat guy , Simon Aster? turned out to be the father of Beatrice (girl who was raped). He had murdered both Oliver and Fornelli (the waiter guy) because it was Oliver who had raped his daughter and Fornelli was also trying to blackmail him. Baetrice's mother had contacted the diplomat guy and told him he was B's father because the husband (not B's father couldn;t find work and they needed help with the mortgage).
It was the real father who had been cruising past to see B.
They were all part of a scam to get investors in the green town thingy that the Lord bloke was doing.
No more about Lewis' wife's death. He and wassisface ended the episode looking through all the papers in the underground hi-tech bunker thingie in the flat where they had all lived as students.
I'll try and remember anything specific if you ask! This may have been less of a help than no reply at all!

DarrellRivers · 19/03/2008 10:10

many thanks, i guessed that simon aster was b's father
darn it, wante to know more about lewis'wife's death.
was this the last in the series?
and didn't Daniella Nardini look old?
where did the horses fit in?

The horses? No bloody idea.
I did think that DN was looking old and a bit rough but she had a baby recently which may well account for both of those things!
I thought there was another episode or 2 to come. I was also frustrated re Lewis' wife's death. I think the fact that it's come up must mean that it will come up again in some tenuously related case (though Oxford is a amall place, surely?).
I was theorising that Oliver had been the hit and run driver or that one of the others had - Oliver's raison d'etre with the others was that he was the official alibi man so it would tie in that he'd either been driving the car or had helped cover up for one of the others? I drive DH mad with this stuff!!
I'm glad the series is on and like the way that Morse gets namechecked fairly regularly. Quality drama usually.

LIZS · 19/03/2008 15:14

Watch it on itv Catchup ! Yes was last of 4.

Carmenere · 19/03/2008 15:15

Hathaway was handsome

spub · 19/03/2008 15:16

He's married to Rose off Dr Who, isn't he? He's gangly; not unattractively, though!

Carmenere · 19/03/2008 15:18

Very not unattractive imo he is my current obsession crush

foofi · 19/03/2008 15:20

Since last week's episode (re The 'Garden'), Hathaway now seems rather effeminate to me.

spub · 19/03/2008 15:23

Ahem, I am no doubt much older than you but I think he looks very young. Like about 22. I find him attractive but in a passive (i'm far too old for you) kind of way! He's Emilia Fox's cousin? They all look quite icy and aristocratic. Now Dr McDreamy off Gray's Anatomy is older than mw and therefore worthy of the loud "phwoooar!" each time I see him...

spub · 19/03/2008 15:24

Foofi,
Do you think Hataway is sexually confused, repressed or both?

Carmenere · 19/03/2008 15:37

No you are right, he is far too young for me

spub · 19/03/2008 16:16

Carmenere,
Now I feel bad. Enjoy, Enjoy! You are probably a thrusting young twenties something and I'm rapidly accelerating towards 40 (well, I'm nearly 38...).
Telly eye candy is a good thing (and it saves you lusting after real life unsuitables....)

No I am 37 too

spub · 19/03/2008 16:19

Er, ok, then how do you feel about Dr McDreamy????

DarrellRivers · 19/03/2008 16:36

i agree re hathaway
i just used to watch the last series in order to lust over him
in fact carmenere, i started a similar thread lusting after him
he's just such posh totty
distant and restrained in public
god knows what manner of perversions in private
i am 35 so i reckon it's ok
can't wait until thurs for all new gray's anatomy
now you're talking
[lust]
[mcdreamy]
