British mystery series

Hello! We are looking for another good mystery series. We loved Grantchester, Shakespeare and Hathaway, Shetland and are currently watching Lewis. Didn't care for Vera. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!!!

I liked the Magpie Murders with Lesley Manville. Only one series of 6 episodes though…

To the other extreme you could do the whole 70 episodes of Poirot

Or al 20 seasons of Midsomer murders

I enjoyed Magpie Murders too, also Scott and Bailey which l think you can get on Amazon.

I've just found Annika and loving it.

Annika is excellent.

If you like Shakespeare and Hathaway you might like Father Brown and there's a rich back catalogue to choose from! We also.like the Madame Blanc Mysteries and Agatha Raisin but they're more on the light side than things like Shetland.

Well to go along with Lewis, there is also Morse and Endeavour (Morse coming before Lewis, and Endeavour coming before Morse, though filmed much later!).

Strike? (I've not yet watched these, only read them, but enjoyed the books)

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! How could I have forgotten Annika? We really enjoyed that show. Loved her "breaking the 4th wall" and talking to the viewer! I will note all of these and get started!

Death in Paradise. If you're a real glutton for punishment, there's at least one series of Beyond Paradise as well.

ITV adapted Ann Cleeves book The Long Call back in 2021. I don't think they've done books 2 and 3 in the series, nor do I know if The Long Call is on ITVX, but if it is it's worth a look.
