Just watching the new series. It's so funny and cringe.

I bloody loved it. A huge dose of nostalgia for 30 years ago plus and sharing it with my 10yo DD who throughly enjoyed it too.

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 13/01/2024 18:54

Love it

Whu · 13/01/2024 18:58

Glad they kept it the same format! Good fun Saturday night tv!
Liked the new gladiators too. The only thing that was missing was the Scottish accent for the referee Grin.

Definitely missed the Scottish accent!

Really enjoying reading the cheesy 'bio' of each gladiator. Electro - personality: shocking 😂

I thought it was brilliant :) way better then that dismal sky remake a few years ago

thursdaygrumbles · 13/01/2024 19:06

I watched it with my 5 year old twins & we all loved it 😊

flightless55 · 13/01/2024 19:07

We loved it and enjoyed sharing a tv programme with my 5 year who really got into it

Shaunthesleep · 13/01/2024 19:11

It went down very well in our house. Glad it's back! A bit of light entertainment that everyone in the house can enjoy 🥰 Makes a change from bloody football!

MadCatLady27 · 13/01/2024 19:30

Loved it! Love how true to the original they kept it

I used to want to be on it and do the eliminator 😂 no chance of that now I'm fat and unfit

So refreshing seeing "normal" women not love island clones. Obviously very physically fit women but no pumped up lips etc

00100001 · 13/01/2024 21:33

So glad we have some decent family friendly entertainment that promotes fitness to boot.

And they didn't fuck with it!

🤣

I like the replacement Wolf in Viper

ShowOfHands · 13/01/2024 21:37

We laughed a lot at the bios. "Can run as fast as a car doing 25.5 mph". DD wants them to change car to something else each week. One of them can pick up a gorilla and one a baby elephant apparently.

We loved it. I'm 38 and remember watching with my parents and sister on a Saturday night. Now I'm watching with my children. It was fab! Hopefully they will bring back some more of the old challenges throughout the series - I was telling DS about the one where they have to climb the wall while a gladiator chases up after them.

frenchnoodle · 14/01/2024 08:09

Thought it was great, better than the sky revamp a few years back (which copied the American gladiators and took things far too seriously), this actually kept the formula of the ITV show, with the panto goodie and baddie Gladiators and everything.

Campy Saturday fun my family enjoyed, very nostalgic.

I expected to hate it.

HungerlosMcMungerlos · 14/01/2024 09:00

We loved this. So pleased they've kept the same format. My 9-year-old ds really enjoyed it too. Great family watching is what Saturday evenings have been missing for years. Roll on next week 😁

Cherryana · 14/01/2024 09:02

I thought they pitched it just right. All of us really enjoyed it! Great fun and positive energy!!

User478 · 14/01/2024 09:11

Liked it, it's only a hair's breadth from wrestling.

The younger presenter does not have his dad's charisma, shame they didn't have a woman. It felt a bit like robot wars but without the teams in the pit.

In all the parts with Bradley and Barney speaking directly to camera it looked they they were holding hands.

Felt a lot less exploitative than Total Wipeout.

JustAnotherKingCnut · 14/01/2024 09:12

I enjoyed it but wonder how much of that was down to nostalgia and novelty.

I am not sure I enjoyed it enough to tune in every week.

Well, it is a kids show really.

pointythings · 14/01/2024 21:38

Watched it with my 21yo DS who really likes wrestling and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
