Is there a thread for the new season of Call the Midwife?

Will Dr Oneface single-handedly birth every child in poplar? Will his simpering wife make costumes for the whole East End? Will Sister Monica Joan's incredible dementia cure ever make headlines?

Sniping apart, I quite enjoyed the first episode. Sister Julienned-carrots is always worth watching and I liked the reflection of how they've (inevitably) been responsible for mistakes as well as successes.

It is getting a bit silly now to be honest - no way would those students be allowed to make such a racket keeping the whole house up.

I couldn't watch Rosie Jones with a straight face. There are so many wonderful disabled actresses and they chose a (albeit quite poor) stand up comedian to play a serious and emotive character storyline???! Who's taking that seriously I mean really come on!. I was expecting her to pull out some cheap joke any second.

I enjoyed the story about Iris Melia as it was something more dramatic for a change than "Mrs Turner saves the day by doing some sewing" like we normally get. How does this woman raise four kids, hold down a job as a nurse, midwife, train student nurses, co-manage the practice, run the maternity home, solve everyones problems (if the problem is too feeble for her husband to bother with) and somehow personally hand weave every thread in Poplar?

We've been using the Christmas special thread. It's really had its day now, and it's time to stop. The nuns seem to have forgotten about the great silence. And the Cyril story line is just really annoying now. There is no role for him now Lucille has gone.

That should have found a better exit for Lucille. It was just so out of character. They need to recast her
