Netflix adverts vs basic plan

Just so others don't get caught out like I did:

If you are on the £6.99 per month basic plan for netflix (cheapest no advert plan available) be careful as it has been discontinued.

You can stay on it for now, but if you change your plan, you can't go back to it.

A few weeks ago an option flashed up on my tv screen to switch to a £4.99 a month plan with 'just a few ad breaks' so I clicked ok. What I didn't realise is that it doesn't include full access. So I can't now watch all the films and series available on Netflix.

If i want full access to all the content again, I'll have to start paying £10.99 a month.

Ive phoned Netflix and have been given the brush off. They aren't regulated (yet) so while it's unethical, sharp practice to have tricked me like this, they can get away with it.
