Read a great article the other day with Stephen Merchant, Martin Freeman and Ralph Ineson talking about then Christmas special in detail. With Stephen Merchant saying everyone thought they'd go down the cynical, downbeat ending but they surprised everyone by going for the romantic ending!

Bawled my eyes out watching it yesterday as usual. Just a beautiful moment after such a long build up. And I love the bit where David tells Finchy to fuck off too, oddly moving!

Watched this recently (had already watched first time round) due to hearing someone mention it (very briefly) on the radio. So glad I did, it was the joy/sadness and utter cringe I needed to see. Excellent!

I've watched that last scene more than any other TV scene! Tim's face when he sees her, dawn looking super serious, the hold of the hand when they walk off. The interruption from Gareth saying that she has a boyfriend had comical timing. It was so subtle for tim just to say "never give up" and she realises that her loyalty to her boyfriend is lost on him. It's just so perfectly done ❤️

Oh, I love it so much. We had the Yazoo song for the first dance at our wedding purely because of this.
