Ant and Dec - always that order

I was just thinking about Ant and Dec (as you do) and I was unsure of who is who (as you are), so I googled "Ant and Dec" and realised that in all the photos of them (bar a few from when they were teens) they stand with Ant on the left and Dec on the right, so the same order you say their names. Is this a planned thing by their management to help people remember who is who or to keep the "brand" intact so that people don't start calling them Dec and Ant, which would weaken their recognisability? It can't just be a fluke, surely...

Yes, it's deliberate.

I read their biography years ago. It is on purpose, initially so people knew which one was which.

After a poll found that 70% of viewers were unable to tell the boys apart, Dec admitted standing in the same positions is a useful way to help out the public. The pair now position themselves so that Ant is on the viewer's left, and Dec on the right

Aha, thanks! Not much of a mystery but I have never thought of them doing this before but it makes sense since they do all appearances together.

Dec and Ant is much more difficult to say quickly 🙂
