Anyone watched/watching this Swedish murder mystery on Netflix? It’s excellent. Won’t post any spoilers but it was interesting to see how different a Swedish murder trial is to a British one.

Oh I enjoyed that one. Watching a Dutch thing now, The Golden Hour.
I love European stuff.

ChanelNo19EDT · 22/12/2023 20:01

yes, I agree wrt the trial, I'm Irish not English but I wondered if that last minute revelation could have worked here. Wouldn't the witness have been prepped by the defence, not just brought in on the day, with no idea what she might say!!

Also, they all looked very relaxed in the seating arrangement. Almost like a dinner party. edited to remove spoiler

Ooh will take a look at that one, thanks OP. Can recommend The Hunt (2012) too, a Danish film for those who have not seen it. Gripping.

Sat down to watch one episode and ended up getting stuck right in and going to bed at an unearthly hour. It does draw you in. Had to see the end.
Interested now to check out the others mentioned here.

I listened to the book on Audible last year and it was more believable. I enjoyed the TV show too but cut out rather a lot.

AngelaRippingMyLegIntheAir · 23/12/2023 18:08

Yes we had everyone in the cast as a suspect 😂

Mrsprofessor83 · 23/12/2023 18:10

Fellow audible 'reader' here. I really enjoyed it.

I want to watch it but only tend to watch the telly when I'm knitting so subtitles and counting doesn't work so well for me! But will have to make the effort to find time to actually watch it

Mrsprofessor83 · 29/12/2023 21:38

I'm such a wally! Didn't realise I could change it so it was dubbed 😂😂

Watched it. Was OK... Obviously not as good as the book but an OK watch

I just dipped into this. Scandi series are seldom rubbish, and I skimmed through a fairly favourable review on imdb. But I didn't like the tone it took early in the first ep, thought it might be going down a predictable path, but will stick with it (literally on the first ep now).

burnoutbabe · 15/01/2024 09:00

I watched it all a few weeks ago.

Interesting to see a different criminal justice system. And u liked the different views.

Slightly a damp squib at the end. I shall say no more due to spoilers.

Martha645 · 15/01/2024 09:06

I’ve just finished it. Thoroughly enjoyed it but agree with @burnoutbabe about the ending.

EvelynKatie · 16/01/2024 21:19

I love the European crime dramas. I watched this and really enjoyed it!
Agree was interesting to see the difference, including being held in isolation in the prison, no contact with anyone else before trial.

duc748 · 17/01/2024 00:48

Was hesitant after the first ep, which I didn't like much, but watched #2, and will stick with it now.

Gfplux · 17/01/2024 14:25

Loved it

duc748 · 20/01/2024 00:09

Finished it now. Liked it overall, a bit different to the run of the mill. Could have been very cliched after the set-up in the first ep, but they came up something a bit better than that.
