I read that the last episode before the Christmas break is on Dec 14th, can’t see where we’re heading with a cliffhanger this year.

I've just realised that when Wendi was first in the show, (as a different character) she was part of a Menopause group -that caused a big argument with Emma and Zara.

And now she's playing a character having post-Menopause issues, that are not being treated well.

I have seen on the Doctors FB site that some think it's wrong to show it, and will put off people getting help, as it shows the treatment in a negative light. Unfortunately, it is a realistic depiction of how women are often dismissed with 'women's problems' - from first periods onwards

It's true that womens' pain is often dismissed and men are not expected to suffer the same level of pain and distress in routine medical matters.
I say routine because when it comes to end of life care we're all treated pretty badly IMO if you're unlucky to end up in hospital rather than a hospice. Blimey that's a downer 😧

I don't understand why gas and air can't be offered if you are having a procedure like a hysteroscopy. That's the case with colonoscopies so why should this be any different? Hopefully not just because it's classed as women's problems!

I fainted when a (very nice and not at all dismissive) doctor tried to fit a mirena coil. Came to with my head on the floor and my ankles on her shoulders. The shame. Had it fitted eventually under general anaesthetic.

Morning all and Happy New Year. I missed the last couple of weeks of episodes before Christmas, I was trying to catch up but its impossible as we watch the darts wall to wall. However I should be able to watch live today. Reading your comments about yesterday's episode is thought provoking. I had a hysteroscopy in my mid 20s but under GA as I was also having a cone biopsy for cervical erosion. So the process was OK, but they found a large fibroid. I remember asking the consultant what could be done and he just shrugged and said "well you can always have a hysterectomy". I was only 25, no DCs, my only symptom had been breakthrough bleeding, I remember feeling stunned. I didn't have the hysterectomy and had two DCs with no real issues, glad I didn't listen to his advice.
