Hi All, I’ve previously enjoyed Catastrophe, Motherland and more recently Starstruck. Can you recommend any other comedies that I might enjoy? We currently only have Netflix and free channels but can pay for Prime/ Now TV etc for a really good series.

You must watch the curse. It's on Channel 4 so you will be able to get it for free. Funniest thing I've seen in years sitting in the 80s

Schitts Creek, Modern Family & Ghosts

Binfire · 20/11/2023 19:02

Thanks, I loved Shitts Creak and Ghosts but haven’t tried the Curse or Modern Family so I’ve added those to the list.

Just discovered Hullraisers.
Been binge watching and really loving it. 😆

One from a few years ago is Jam And Jerusalem.
A lovely, cosy gentle comedy set in one of my favourite parts of the country.

Big Boys are on channel 4 was good, and there's a second series coming soon.

Or you could try The Cleaner on BBC.

FionnulaTheCooler · 20/11/2023 21:30

This Country, BBC Iplayer.

I second Hullraisers.

Also:
The Change (Bridget Christie) - C4
We Are Ladyparts - BBC
Hacks - Prime

Ghosts on BBC iPlayer is very funny

Teatrayderby · 20/11/2023 22:08

Silicon valley is amazing

CloverHilla · 20/11/2023 22:09

Oh yes, I second Big Boys! On ch4 I think.

Also Taskmaster, on Netflix or Ch4. I didn't think I'd like it at all, but a friend in work said give it a go and honest to god there's some episodes where I've never laughed so much in my life!

I third Hullraisers! I am from Hull so got a lot of references that would go over the head of someone who isn't!

dishwasherquestion · 20/11/2023 22:18

the first few series of Benidorm are very funny and on Netflix.

Justwanttotravel · 20/11/2023 22:24

Second ‘This Country’. Brilliant 😀

Seconded!
Really didn't think it'd be my thing... it's the chemistry in the studio. I've laughed till I cried at some of the 'compose a song/dance' tasks over the series too.

Brooklyn 99 and Kim's Convenience- both Netflix.

duc748 · 28/11/2023 17:31

If you don't mind sub-titles, Kleo on Netflix is sharp and funny. More a dramedy than a sit-com, though.

Catinawhirl · 30/11/2023 15:55

Breeders, all series.
