Can anyone recommend some good tv shows that are engaging and hold focus but also not too high stress? I say this as I love crime drama and line of duty type but don’t think that’s the best for my current state of high anxiety. On the other side of things I also enjoyed This is Us and Virgin River type drama. It would be great to find something engaging so not tempted to doom scroll etc.

Death in Paradise. It’s easy, beautiful scenery and very gentle.

My go to attention keeping but not too stressful shows are :

Detectorists (BBC)
Ghosts. (BBC)
All Creatures Great and Small (Channel 5)
Gilmore Girls (Netflix)
Modern Family (Disney +)

If you like Virgin River you must watch Chesapeake Shores. Utter dross but really comforting small town vibe.

Highly recommend Five Bedrooms, and there is about 3 series of it so plenty to binge.

Ghosts. on BBC. We only just discovered it, 5 x 6 x 30min episodes available.

I'n heartily seconding

Detectorists; Five Bedrooms; Colin from Accounts; Ghosts and Ted Lasso.

Fisk on ITVX has a similar vibe to Colin from Accounts.

Bridgerton (3 series) Queen Charlotte which is a spin off and The Buccaneers are both similar if you like period stuff that's light and frothy but lacking in historical accuracy.

Riches on ITVX is a family, business and intrigue drama.

If you want to avoid doom scrolling would you consider watching something in another language so you have to use subtitles?
I tend to enjoy it more that way as you really have to pay attention!
I found velvet engaging but not stressful.

Oh yes- on the foreign recommendation go for the original French Call my Agent- fabulous stuff!

Agree with @Nonamenoplacetogo with
Detectorists, Ghosts & All Creatures Great and Small.

And with @Soubriquet re The Good Place (Netflix)

If you enjoy The Detectorists then you'll also probably enjoy Mortimer & Whitehouse Go Fishing (BBC).
