gosh no, it was very sad!

scatterbrain · 11/03/2008 21:02

DH talked all through it - can someone update me on what's wrong with Grace ?

Jojay · 11/03/2008 21:03

She's got a cerebral oedema (sp?)

Judging by the look on their faces, it's bad.

I hate the baby ones.

There but by the grace of God go I, and all that........

scatterbrain · 11/03/2008 21:08

Oh dear - that does sound bad - and how did she fall down the stairs ? Surely she's not old enough to be crawling is she ?

That was my mother's fault - she rang as it was starting and I couldn't get her off the phone !

Jojay · 11/03/2008 21:09

She's 10 months old apparently, so would be crawling probably.

The nanny was drying her hair, and the stairgate was faulty.

scatterbrain · 11/03/2008 21:15

Really - I didn't think she was much older that 5 months - time flies !!

Thanks for the info !!

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:16

don't forget its on tonight too. It made my blood run cold when Connie screamed at the begining..

MascaraOHara · 12/03/2008 12:20

I don't think it's a good as it used to be.

I think the actress who plays Connie is strangely beautiful though (how superficial am I?!) not many people could get away with her hair do.

bundle · 12/03/2008 12:22

i like connie's freckles

bundle · 12/03/2008 12:22

cerebral oedema is bad - you can get it as part of altitude sickness too and can be fatal

shrinkingsagpuss · 12/03/2008 12:24

twas very sad, but did think the portayal of the other mother was excellent by the other actress.

mind, you, offset that story line aginst dippy Donna, and it gave a little light relief!!

Connie is lovely, her hair is something to envy!!

needmorecoffee · 12/03/2008 12:24

i imagine the bby will be fine. no-one on Holby ever ends up with a baby with cerebral palsy.

Nappyzone · 12/03/2008 12:26

i missed the end bit as was on the phone trying to get my friend of it lol! Did the other little boy die? I did not realise it was on again tonight thanks

needmorecoffee · 12/03/2008 12:27

I find the baby ones tough as dd was in NICU after her brain injury but I thought it was well acted. Just knew that other woman's son wasn't going to make it

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:27

the other actress (mother) was great, I really felt for her.

bundle · 12/03/2008 12:29

sparkly, i thought she was a bit too cor blimey.

that baby has had a tough life so far...

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:30

I know what you mean NMC (about noone having a child with CP on holby) yet Grace was born prematurely, had a problem with her brain, and now this, so techically should have CP, but you know she wont

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:30

she was a bit chavvy wasn't she? But a very good actress.

bundle · 12/03/2008 12:33

don't mind chavviness but felt it was a bit overegged

fryalot · 12/03/2008 12:33

I thought the actress who played the other mum was fab as well.

Was it just me or did anyone else think that they really laboured the point about the mothers not being there when the child was injured.

I felt that there seemed to be a message that mothers who leave their children are eeeeeevil. Perhaps it was just me being a bit oversensitive?

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:36

well no, because the other mother was at home, but let her boy play outside in the lane, when he was hit by a car, and Connie was at work when Grace fell, so a bit difference. I did like it when the other mother just started to chat to Connie and Connie was just not interested.

shrinkingsagpuss · 12/03/2008 12:37

no - I thought it was the other way round - expressing that you will feel guilty, but recognising you can't be there all the time.

SparklyGothKat · 12/03/2008 12:37

thats me, that is, chatting to people who clearly aren't interested, telling them my life story

fryalot · 12/03/2008 12:37

I did wonder if I was being oversensitive, it was just that the other mum was saying "I should have been there" and that was obviously what Connie was thinking as well (as was the nanny)

Good episode. Looking forward to tonight.

ephrinedaily · 12/03/2008 12:42

Call me a loser (well, don't, but I mean I know I shouldn't care about Holby City and this clearly wasn't the important bit of lat night's episode!) Have I missed an episode when something happened with Mr Cullen? Why was he all weird with the red-headed girl and who is Olivia?
