Has anyone watched the whole thing? I'm on ep 2 and not feeling it. Is it worth continuing?

Thank you.

What's it about and what channel?

thenightsky · 03/11/2023 20:05

Netflix. Horror.

I loved it! It is a but slow at first but soon hots up imo. I would try one or two more episodes.

thenightsky · 03/11/2023 20:09

Thank you! I'll keep going.

I started watching it a while ago but gave up after 1.5 episodes. I then kept reading how great it was so gave it another go. I have now watched it all but I, personally, didn't enjoy it. It's a shame as I have lived everything else Mike Flanagan has put out.

I know some people feel it's not his best work but I liked The Midnight Club. You could give that a go.

I tried the Midnight Club but found it a bit 'teenage', if that makes sense?

I just need a decent horror to watch.

I've just finished this! Think it was well worth the watch, agree it's a slower burner though.

Have you seen any of Mike Flanagan's other series/films? There's a few on Netflix at the moment. I'm halfway through The Fall of The House of Usher at the minute and loving it.

It definitely has a LOT of horror elements but isn't an ordinary horror fwiw. If you want scares, Hill House is definitely the one :)

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 04/11/2023 09:20

I bailed out towards the end. The episodes are never-ending and it's just a bit ridiculous and full of endless monologues.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/11/2023 11:42

I liked it. Definitely slow and lot of monologues that aren't needed but the last 3 episodes are worth it. I loved the ending.

hellohellothere · 04/11/2023 11:43

I watched 2 episodes as well and stopped. I also found it slow paced and a little boring. I love his other stuff though.

BettyBakesCakes · 04/11/2023 12:22

It gets better although not my favourite.

IHeartGeneHunt · 04/11/2023 12:25

Yes! Stick with it. I watched the first episode and thought it was awful, then went back again a lot later and gave it another go and it's so good.
Good horror and great story and it made me actually sob at one point.

GiantToblerone · 04/11/2023 12:26

I liked the first third, maybe. Then it got stupid and descended into a foolish zombie apocalypse scenario and a really bad, cheesy end.
